I think it is appropriate to keep Jayalalitha statue in place of Kannagi. Because,

(1) Jaya is the symbal of chasity!!(Atleast all tamil brahmins think in that way).
(2) Because Karunanidhi is not a good guy Jaya is allowed to do all nonsense. Whenever Jaya does some mistake always compare with MK whether he had done any similar thing. That is the way to show your love on Jaya or hate on Karunanidhi.
(3) Kannagi cursed to burn madurai. Jaya may burn whole Tamilnadu
