Is it true that tamils are linked with the southern italians?

There was a Tamil settlement in Italy in the 1st 2nd century A.D. Rome and Tamilnadu had a lot of business people travelling back and forth in the bygone days.

Yes there was..even now days there's bath places and building of Thamizh in Greek and Rome and we had goods exchange with Roman Empire during Chola Empire and we had Greeks came to Thamizh Nadu for works and there were some Greeks stayed as Guards to Thamizh King Castles.

all these tamil connection with the ancient empires of the world sound very interesting, but would it be possible for you guys to provide formal proofs :) ...existing buildings etc...???

It would be interesting to know where the Tamil diaspora has dispersed. We already know about the Caribbean, South Africa, Guyana, Uganda, SE Asia, especially as the settlers have maintained their Tamil identity quite well. Many feel sentimental about the 'homeland' too.
Any thoughts?

As shown by settlement on Sri lanka and Maldives,Prakrit speaking people were the first people to do maritime trade in the indian ocean in a large scale using ships which can carry hundreds of people

Tamilians came from West Indies, and Jamaica, some 5000 years ago sailing on log boats in search of food. Later they made settlement in southern part of India. Still their habits are more or less like native West indians and Jamaicans.

yes what a study you done Scholar! Thamizhans origin is 'kumarikandam' and the left over land is the submerged land that south of now day TN (including chera nadu;kerala) and Eezham(Thamizheezham and Sri Lanka) are one of the left over part of kumarikandam(or known as Lemuria) along with Madagscar.
