First two names might be from 'sanskrit'.
3rd name very remote chance in Tamil.
4th one sounds like a Tamil name.

Persaud is a broken form of "Prasad" which is actually used all over India.

My name is Anja and I would like to know the origin (and meaning if there´s any) of my name. In the Czech Republic where I come from this is not a common name and people keep asking me of its origin. I´m not able to answer the question. Silly. I´d really appreciate your help. (Though, it is not a matter of life or death! I am just a bit curious myself.) Thanks anyway.

Hi
I am a Tamil living in South Africa, Cape Town. I am bit confused, because my surname is Chetty. I heard of a few Shetty's but they are Hindi speaking people and heard of Chetty's or Chatty's that have its origin in England. My family history is very vague. My father told me that he heard his father say that his father was from Singapore. My great gradnfather and his brother had a short stay in South Africa and then left.
Most of the literature I read indicate that the indentured labourers were from South India. Are there Chetty's in Singapore that are Tamil speaking ?

i) caste in ancient india was based on character rather than color or birth. eg) thieves were assumed lowest caste
ii) dark people and non brahmins ruled india especially the south infact they constituted many brahmins. So there is no doubt that dark brahmins who are present today were existing even before a 2000 years as brahmins.
iii) dravidian kings ruled south india
iv) All indians are immigrants into india at one period or the other for a time span of 25000 yrs and get suntanned. The list includes aryans and dravidians .
BRAHMINS and BRAHMINISM WERE PRESENT IN INDIA EVEN BEFORE ARYAN INVASION
