  Chidambara rahasyam means 'nothing',its abour 'nothingness',this place(chidambaram natraja temple) is where lord shiva performed his cosmic dance.He is in the 'aroopam' form here.

  Of the Panchabhootas (5 elements) Shiva is space / an expanse of nothingness here. The space behind the statue is empty signifying that "God exists" in infinity; that God is nothingness; God is in nothingness. (A very impersonally personal view of the divine here). If am not being preposterous, wud say the concept is an amalgamation / precursor / akin to Buddhist and Islamic thought.
  
  Visited this place. Its a beautiful temple, picturesque carvings, attracts tourists, but v.v.ordinarily maintained unlike the postcard pix- cud do with some cleanliness. Facilities around the temple r awful - not even a proper place to eat. It was very dark inside the sanctum sanctorum, I actually cudn't c the statue properly - some say there is no statue there, its just an illusion!!LOL) - o well, such stories made my trip despite the unkempt surroundings.

  Chidambara Ragasiyam is nothing but God is Everywhere it cannot be seen. So they Kept a place with golden leaves of Vilvam and behind that no Moorthy will be there so you have to think that God is there and he is in air (Vayu) that is called Chidambara Ragasiyam

  i) caste in ancient india was based on character rather than color or birth. eg) thieves were assumed lowest caste
  ii) dark people and non brahmins ruled india especially the south infact they constituted many brahmins. So there is no doubt that dark brahmins who are present today were existing even before a 2000 years as brahmins.
  iii) dravidian kings ruled south india
  iv) All indians are immigrants into india at one period or the other for a time span of 25000 yrs and get suntanned. The list includes aryans and dravidians .

  @ajan there is a lot of false information propagating all over india. i ur in srilanka or the US or singapore ur fortunate not to get involved in such kind ofissues
  the bad part is two castes may be the same. but even then they form a kutti(small) subcaste among the subcast end start fighting between the subcaste, eventhough the major subset caste is common for the two kutti (small) subcastes
