Hi,
In Unicode system, Tamil has been allocated only 128 character positions. Unicode system is using iscii ( Central goverment's Indian lanaguge encoding standard). iscii has lot of bugs and also not-efficient for tamil (approxmately 3-times slower). please read below the articles and sign the petition. Tamil has already got lot of efficient encoding sytesm, which are already in use. Unicode is an international standard, So an efficient encoding system has to be used for tamil. So we have to raise our voice to get unicode to be re-constructed for tamil (Which is highly feasible) ...
And don't forget, Pass it on ....
In Tamil : http://www.kanithamizh.org/unicode-il-tamil.htm
In English: http://www.tamil.net/people/sivaraj/tamil_unicode.html
IMPROTANT :
SIGN THE PETITION

Prakash

We need 320 character slots for thamizh (tamil) language which is alloted only 128 character slots. Current allocation is not enough to hold all the alphabets and the encoding scheme is not simple to follow. This is an very urgent need. Otherwise the future thamizh (tamil) computer users will severely suffer. Please dont have a different openion on this. Thamizh is our language and we are having the rights and responsibility to have a well defined character set along with the other languages of this world, where most of the languages are having more than enough character slots for them.

I don't think they use Caste as identity especially when they go out of India. They use nationality as identity. So, I feel, even there was/is/were/was famous personality/ies from this caste, it is very difficult to find out.
There are a very few people from TamilNadu who use their caste name unlike other states.

I am a Naicker from Africa. I mean Right now!!!!
Ur statement ("Physically strong
mentally poor") is only meant for you, as your statement "Naicker's descened from africa" is wrong!!!! Because, if you had been to any part of Africa, then, you would have known which indian state is more closer to african culture!!!!!
