Since my last visit, it seems as if Kerala is going back to its Tamil roots both religiously and culturally.
Along the roadsides, brand new temples in the gopuram/terracotta styles are now favored all over the place. Usually painted temples are typical of TN only, but now it is very common in Kerala, and if not the temple itself, the temple entrance is encrusted with terracotta figures.
And these aren't seen just near the TN border, these are commonly found in places like Alappuzha, Kumarakom, Changanassery, etc. Temples dedicated to PechiAmman, KaaliAmman, and numerous MaariAmman temples. The traditional tiled temples don't seem to be favoured anymore. Also small shrines dedicated to Murukan are found all over the place.
Also, the festival processions are more that of TN. Plus other rituals are being revived like goat sacrifices; thookkam is also becoming common in Bhagavathiamman temples, etc.
Also Malayalam movies these days usually have some kind of Tamil link.
What do you all think? Is Kerala coming back to its senses?

  Vai Ko never speak Tamil at home but he speak Telugu. As far as Vai Ko concerned TAMIL is a business property or commodity for sale.
  
  He cry for the Tamil criminal LTTE which is the #1 killer of Tamils in the modern history. Now LTTE is a boot licker of Sinhala UNP.
  
  LTTE dont have any Political Manifesto or anything in print. LTTE is backed by former colonial master Britain as well as all the CHRISTIAN churches.

  The Tamil spoken in Malaysia and Singapore is far better than that spoken in Tamil Nadu.In Malaysia we say 'ukaru', but in Chennai 'kunthu'.In Malaysia we also use vanga and ponga alot regardless of age. Chennai Tamil is a typical low class Tamil. You Tamilians should visit Malaysia and Singapore to learn proper pronunciation and intonation.Most of the Tamilians in Singapore and Malaysia avoid Indian workers from India .   I saw on "Ripley's" on TV, the hindu rituals of Thaipoosam, situated in Kerala.
  They showed individuals with vel-kavadi (popular in Malaysia), and male Karagattam dancers surrounding the individual in the transe state.
  It was pretty interesting, it looked as if it was set in Tamil Nadu.

  As far as Tamil culture in Kerala? For some strange reason, passing through Malayalam channels like "Jeevan, Asianet, Surya" etc. Something Tamil has to do with the programs. Like almost every Malayalam movie nowadays, there is something Tamil about it, like half of it is shot in Tamil Nadu. And I always hear Tamil songs, plus there is even a program on Jeevan, for Tamil songs called "Thirai Thendral".
  I don't know, Malayalees really inside love Tamils, and want to get back to their true roots! ;)

  It is so sad to go through the bad comments made by a few writers. Many have gone out of the topic. It is true that Tamil culture is invading into Kerala because of its "charming". The Malayalee brothers; most of them have gone abroad to earn wealth and a majority of the remaining
  educated mass have "encroached" to all the states in this country to do "business". Only the drunkards......etc. remain in Kerala; they don't bother about their culture or behaviour or anything. So, the Tamils exploit this chance to their benefit.
