The Self is the sun shining in the sky,
The wind blowing in space; he is the fire
At the altar and in the home the guest;
He dwells in human beings, in gods, in truth,
And in the vast firmament; he is the fish
Born in water, the plant growing in earth,
The river flowing down the mountain.
For this Self is supreme!

It is sad to see the rise of Hindu Fundamentalism. The word itself is a oxymoron. Hindus should not be fundamentalist but tolerant. That is real Hindutva. Who wants the sadhus to run the country. That will be disastrous.
However the reason for this has been that the Christians and muslims in India cannot live in a secular State. Unlike the Hindus the christian padres, priests and ministers, are busy decrying the hindu beliefs and hindu practices in churches and mosques and converting. The evil practise of caste is again and again used to convert but the muslim and christian once converted are not prepared to give up the caste system and want all the benefits of backward caste so that is a hypocritical arguement. The money collected from Hundis in Hindu temples are used to charter 1300 planes for Haj pilgrims. That is not secularism. The christian missionaries spend millions of dollors to bribe tribals to convert and KEEP THEIR CASTE and the same time denigrate the majority religeon. As per the latest INDIA TODAY, Hindu fundamentalism is growing in orissa because of increased missionary activity criticising Hindus. Christians and muslims should learn to live and let live to prevent a take over by Bajrang Dal and Shiva sena but it does not look optimistic.Father Immanuel, Rev Milton have now been joined by Monsignior Kumar in trying to evangelise. Please learn to live in a secular society and be tolerant. Criticize the Pope when he says to the nation that he has come to save the Hindus. Then the Pope goes directly to Israel and visits a synagogue and says that he is not here to convert and respects all religeon. What a hypocrite. The christians rightly want the members of VHP, Bajrang Dal etc arrested but with the same breath they should also ask for arrest of the padres and priests, Inmams and Ulemas who are spreading hatred.Indian Muslims want India to be secular but no muslim leader has raised objection over the Kashmiri Hindus being thrown out of Kashmir. If Secularism is good for India is it not good for Kashmir?.The christian and muslims support such fascist parties like DMK, ADMK that are based on caste hatreds and if you read Father Immanuel you would be thankful that you are not a christian. The hatred that Indian christians and Muslims have is the result of the brain washing in churches and mosques. No wonder Hindus also have their counterparts which unlike Christianity and Islam does not believe in conversions and also does not believe that only Hinduism is the way to salvation. The more obdurate Christians and muslims become the more Hindu fundamentalism they will see and only they are to blame and no one else.Respect other peoples religeon and stop criticizing other religeons however bad it seems to you, stop conversions of uneducated poor people who do not understand and for heavens sake give up caste system.Caste system is an evil exclusive to the Hindus and will stay as long there are idiots and morons who want engineering and medical degrees and big Govt. jobs without learning to read and write.

>>Father Immanuel, Rev Milton have now been joined by Monsignior Kumar in trying to evangelise. Please learn to live in a secular society and be tolerant.<<
Siddarth, you obviously haven't been reading any of my posts.
If I am 'Evangelising', please reproduce these posts (and not out of context as other have).
I am for the freedom of choice. I am against forced conversions; and I am particualrly against forced conversions by christians (so-called). I am against condemning other faiths (yes, even christians who condemn other religions).
If there is anything I am 'evangelising'is that people be given the freedom of choice- to practise, to accept, to choose, to reject, etc. No one should be ostracized for practising their freedom of choice.
Unfortunately there are others who feel that people should be condemned, chased away, or even murdered because of their personal choice.
If conversion by preaching is the issue here, then people have the right to say 'no'. If these preachers persist, and become a nuisance, then make complaints to the police. If a democracy gives a person the freedom to preach his religion, the same democracy allows another to engage in the process of law in stopping people who have encroached on the privacy of others.
PS: I truly don't deserve the title of 'Monsignor' Kumar. But you seem very fond of giving out titles. What about you siddarth? What title would you like?

Siddharth,
This is one of your posts which i read and i agree with that almost 60%.
You make sense most of the time. But the way in which you write make it difficult to read.
Even I was writing such full paras when i came here first and then MV gave me tips as to how to split the posts so as to make it easy for others to read and understand.
Kumar,
The same process of law was vehemently opposed by even comparatively moderate christians like Mr.M and Ms.:) !!
I am personally against even free conversions.I think you are a catholic. How would you and your family feel if your son 'converts' into a protestant and changes name and culture and starts denigrating your beleifs and views you all as enemies and thinks that you are anti-christ??
This is our heart-burn.

Dr.Kumar:
I have said many times that one should respect another's religeon.Religeon is like a wallet. The money is for the person who owns the wallet. One should keep it there and take advantage of the money and not show it around. Christianity and Islam believe that the poath of salvation is only through their way and that is the problem. You should realise that today you are a christian because of that belief.
That belief is harmful to others and that is the reason that christians still feel superior and truly believe that only they are eligible to paradise. Hinduism does not have a paradise. The Indian christians like you have not given up the caste system but still criticise that caste system. Father Immanuel is one good example. Rev Milton is proud that the whole family has doctorates but they are all backward doctorates that easier to get then a pack of beedis if you claim that you are a backward.
That is the reason I call you a doctor as I think it is foolish not to get a doctorate from Anna University when it is offered without having to study and go to college.-Like Dr. Shtalin.
I have not yet been able to get a title as yet.I am trying hard to get a backward certificate which can be irrefutable. I did get one from a panchayat board President but had to spend a lot of money for it. Now the University is asking for money to regularise and accept the certificate and I do not have that kind of money. You do not realise how easy it is for people like you.

Dear Mr.Siddarth,
Do you know that when Christianity entered in India, ther was human sacrifices allowed in our culture?
Do you know that there was Sathi (Burning the wife when the husband died) practiced?
Do you know that ther was child marriages and if a girl became a young widdow, she was denied a hanourable status in that previous society?
Do you know that Lower caste ladies were not allowed to put on a decent upper garment(Jacket) and only Brittish ladies designed the present day Jackets?
Do you know that education was denied for the lower class people, and only "kula Thozil" system was encouraged?
Do you know that now at present though the percentage of Indian Christians are less then 10% and they run 40% of all education institutions, 60% of all the hospitals and 75% of all the social service activities.
By saying this I don't want to you to convert, but please please go through the real history and try to be little bit 'grateful'.
One should not jump to any conclusion by seeing the present day society, Look back at the 17th - 18th century India. There was not one Nation, It was 56 different Nation. Always fighting with each other.
I don't mean to say that India has no good culture. Indeed the Indian Culture is one of the best in the present world. To attain that level, certainly the idealogies of Christianity also helped a lot.
Though it is difficult for me also to confine my self with one "group" or "block", there is lot of benafits to be of one mindedness.
I do want to contact you and share my Ideas with you. Please contact me with your e.mail ID to joseph@fiber-tec.com.

Joseph,
First learn about hinduism.
http://www.atributetohinduism.com
Please read about Imperialsim and Caste System and Women In Hinduism there.
There are so many other Hindu colleges, hospitals and social service institutions. Why are you not appreciating what they do?

Siddarth, I must have missed your reply.
>> Christianity and Islam believe that the poath of salvation is only through their way and that is the problem. You should realise that today you are a christian because of that belief.<<
I have previously mentioned that religious preference is a personal matter; but I have never said, as you suggested, that I did it for salvation. Neither did I do it out of a lack of respect for other faiths.
>>I have said many times that one should respect another's religeon.Religeon is like a wallet. The money is for the person who owns the wallet. One should keep it there and take advantage of the money and not show it around.<<
Nice metaphor, but allow me to disagree with you. If religion is like a wallet, then keep the money safe. But also allow yourself to be charitable with your money. Share that money if you can, especially with those who have little or nothing.
But never give it to expect something in return- for selfish purposes. This greed, unfortunately, has been done before, and people are still doing it. But don't ever make the mistake of putting everyone in the same boat.
PS,
>>The Indian christians like you have not given up the caste system but still criticise that caste system. <<
Really? You talk as if you have known me for the past 12 years. Well for your information, my caste name was dropped by my Hindu grandfather, a step which my Hindu father has also taken. I have kept my Hindu name which my grandmother gave me.
No caste name attached to my name. Just the Doctorate which you have bestowed upon me.
:)
