It is believed that Rama worshiped Lord Shiva at Rameswaram after coming back victorious from Lanka. The Linga formed by Sita is known as Ramalingam. Lord Shiva is Ramanathan.

Dear Ramanathan,
Most of the Indians use their village name as family name. In good old days, people in villages identify the new immigrant with his former village name. Unfortunately Tamil society abondened this practice hundred years ago and started using one's father first name as the child's last name. The current Tamil practice destroyed the roots of ones family trace. Muslim and Christian religion in India did the same way and robbed ones family history by giving Muslim and Christian names.

Ramanathan,
Usually 'Nath' is associated with a certain type of Yogis(called Sithars in Tamil tradition).
These Naths are yogis of hte high order. If u read Thirumoolar, He declares Himself as a 'Nath' and say 'natharanom!"...meaning that he became a 'nathar'.
Rama was considered to be a Sithar(or Yogi) , so he was called so.
The Vaishnavites places associated with Sithars like Srirangam have 'nath' attached to God's name(ranganathar).

One meaning of "nath" is "naatham" which is music of sacred sound.
Ramanathan is one who sings the "nath" of Ram meaning one similar to Hanuman.
Another meaning...
hmm..
when one's sexual energy goes out, one retrievable energy and one irretreivable energy goes out.
one will come back when u eat well and the other will not come back which is calle "naatham" or "naadham" in tamil.
One who hold back this energy to sing the name of Ram is call Ramanathan.
Ok?

i) caste in ancient india was based on character rather than color or birth. eg) thieves were assumed lowest caste
ii) dark people and non brahmins ruled india especially the south infact they constituted many brahmins. So there is no doubt that dark brahmins who are present today were existing even before a 2000 years as brahmins.
iii) dravidian kings ruled south india
iv) All indians are immigrants into india at one period or the other for a time span of 25000 yrs and get suntanned. The list includes aryans and dravidians .
BRAHMINS and BRAHMINISM WERE PRESENT IN INDIA EVEN BEFORE ARYAN INVASION

Certain things r to be told only to Dravidian Movement fellows.
Tell them that they too r from outside India.
Atleast then they will stop calling Brahmins as outsiders.
Bring awareness in right place, not among people who know things.
U r trying to enlighten the learned not the dummies clan that u belong.
Why?

@davie
Why dont u read "Crime and Punishment" by Fyodor Dostoyvky?
The poor Hero of the novel says "What is right for one is not right for the other"
He justifies killing too.
He says "The society may call the killer a bad person and hang him, but the killers conscience wont accept what he did as wrong, ever"
Only death will be painfull but his conscience will be clear about his murder too.
If this information is wrong, blame Russians.
