tamilnadu was the place for the rebirth of hinduism after jainism and buddhism almost destroyed the vedicreligion.strong saivite and vaishnavite streams started here under alwars and nayanmars.thirugnanasambandhar was the leading apostle for the rebirth of saivism here.cananybody provide more details about the

  there was no total dissappearance of jainism in tn.tamil jainism is practised by the some jains here.there is an age old jaina mutt at kanchi.
