Can anybody share some light about "Govender"/ "Gounder".
There are many people of these surnames in South Africa, but over time, the true significance of these names have been lost.

Which part of South India do these persons come from, and any other useful information.

I am eagerly awaiting the tamil version of `Shore to Shore` and also the publication of her collecion of the folklore collected from the malaysian kongku gounders.   i am not a great writer--but my book is a simple narration done sincerely and without fear or favour. i am trying to get my t.book into c.d -i have it in a printed book form--my hard disk saving destroyed ii have it also scanned on c.d but theris no programme to save it hard disk-- soon i'll be sending-in one way or other.
