Moodley is a corruption of MUTHALI. I hope they are all belong to the Pallava Kings. Thillayadi Valliyamma of S/Africa was the first woman to die in the Gandhi's Sayagraha. She was a Muthali.
Pallava(sanskrit or Pali) = Muthalilai(Tamil) means first leaves. Pallavas were the first kings of South india in the recorded history.
Pallava kingdom existed till 9th century. Muthalis known as KaiKola and Senguntha (Red Spear.. In Chola army there was regiment called Kaikola Padai of Spear warriers) also. Kaikola = Khai Kula (pali) means Kshatriya Kula.
The famous Kaikula Muthalis are C N Annadurai, the first DMK CM of Tamil Nadu, Sri Kirubananda Variyar, the famous Murugan preacher, Bharathi dasan AKA Subbu Rathnam of Pandichery, the famous Tamil Poet, Otta Koothar, the Tamil poet of three Chola generations, Siru Thondar AKA Paranjothy Muthali, the famous commander of Pallava king, defeted Chalukya Pulikesi and many more.
Muthali(lai) means FIRST LEAVES =PALLAVa in Sanskrit. Pallavas were the first known kings of Tamil Nadu in the moden history.
