Anbulla Vasaharhale (Dear Readers),
A quick and early solution to the legitimate grievances of the majority Women in TamilNadu highlighted by MEENAKSHI and posted in another thread (titled "Tamils should learn to respect and do justice to women.....") will not materialise to the extent expected unless all medias such as News Papers, Radio and TV Stations - too treat this as an important social issue and help to find redress to majority Women in TamilNadu.
The highlights on the woes and the greivences of the Women in TamilNadu in the Medias, and educating the population of TamilNadu with the remedial measures in this connection, are very essential to the benefit and the upliftment of the Tamil Women socially.
Further the conciousness of these grievences and the collective responsibilty of the people of TamilNadu in taking corrective measures in this matter, "could be infused much more in the minds of the entire population of TamilNadu" by the Ruling Government of TamilNadu, - irrespective of which Political Party is ruling - declare one day of the year as the "TamilNadu Women's Day" and make it a State holiday to celebrate this day.
This day should be celebrated with Mass meetings, and Forum discussions at the Universities, Colleges and at the Public - Auditoriums and other Places, with peaceful march by Women's - Organisations of Tamil Nadu highlighting to the masses the purpose of this day, Exhibitions stressing on the general upliftment of the majority Women of TamilNadu socially, ethically, and education wise and economically, held at every nook and corner and in every villages and towns of TamilNadu, publicising the significance of this day.
Their call should be for their Liberation, Freedom, Respect, Justice and general Upliftment in all walks of life, and to their security - within their homes - from Drunked, Iliterate, (mentally & physically) Abusive Husbands and from the Dowry Torture from their heartless In-Laws, and in the society outside their homes from Abusive words and Indecent languages of Men in Public, Ragging in Universities & Colleges, Sexual Harrasment and Eve-teasing in Offices and Public Places, Kidnapping of Women from Public Places, and from the Rape of Women by ruthless Men from ordinary Laymen to powerful Personalities.
All Medias of TamilNadu should highlight these celebrations and their significance in a very big way, creating much social awareness and importance of the Liberation and Freedom of the Women in TamilNadu, and educating the Men population "TO RESPECT AND DO JUSTICE TO WOMEN BOTH YOUNG AND OLD, AT HOME AND IN PUBLIC PLACES, AND PROVIDE THEM WITH EQUAL STATUS WITH MEN - IN ALL FIELDS AND IN ALL WALKS OF LIFE".
These celebrations could be similer to the May Day celebrations celebrated in all countries throughout the World - highlighting the Workers Rights in Working Environments.
The "TamilNadu Womens Day" could also set an example to the other States of India which has similer grievences, and also in the other underdeveloped countries in the World.
Will the present Ruling Government of TamilNadu kindly declare one day of the year as the "Tamil Nadu Women's Day" to pave way for people of Tamil Nadu to collectively think, realise and find redress to the woes and greivences of the Women of TamilNadu, and also plan out strategies to socially liberate and uplift them ???

Why are the Hindu, Christian, and Muslim Religious Dignitaries of TamilNadu, silent on this most important social issue of TamilNadu - which needs attention.
If the Religious Dignitaries are not concerned of the burning issues of a Society - and find redress to them, then there is no need for such Dignitaries among that Society.

Today is "International Women's Day".
When the World has recognized the importance of declaring a day of the year as "International Women's Day", why is it the TamilNadu is lagging behind in declaring a day of the year as "TamilNadu Women's Day", to pave way for people of TamilNadu to collectively think, realise and find redress to the woes and greivences of the Women of TamilNadu, and also plan out strategies to socially liberate them and ethically and economically uplift them ???

Dear Readers,
One of the other issues, which is eating up our Tamil Society is the Dowry System.
It has left many Young Girls much in tears and unhappiness with nothing to look forward, and with no hopes of a happy wedded life - at their prime age, and with their Parents suffering in mental agony, anxiety, tension, and sleepless nights thinking of the plight of their most loved Daughters with no marriage for want of Dowry.
Today many civic minded people are striving hard to put an end to this System.
One of the 'Forum Hub' Contributer named "SHAKTHI"
has made a very very useful contribution in this direction, by opening a new thread titled the "Possible Solutions to Eradicate Dowry" in this same Forum Hub.
There is still another great evil which is also eating up the future of many Young Tamil Girls, which has been correctly pointed out by Mr SK another Forum Hub Contributor, is the Jathaham + Thosam, which too has deeply rooted in our Tamil Society that should be eradicated.
This issue too has blasted the hopes of many Young Tamil Girls having "a happy married life" for no fault of theirs. The fear cycosis which has been driven into the minds of so many among our Tamil Society over many decades, has made many young men to hesitate to marry Young Girls with Jaythaham having bad Thosam.
Very soon I will open a Thread in this Forum Hub, in connection with this latter issue too.
But my main point is how many of the 60 - Million Tamils in Tamil Nadu could afford Computers and Internet facilities, and read our Forum Hub Messages by many Contributors. Hence the efforts of many of us - the Contributors to this Forum Hub - reaches only few who could afford Computer facilities.
This is why I made a call to the present Tamil Nadu Government to declare a day of the year as the "TAMIL NADU WOMENS DAY" which will give much awareness to the purpose of the day, being publicising the messages aimed at the Liberation, Freedom, Respect, Justice and general Upliftment of Women socially and in all walks of life, reaching every nook and corner and every Town & Village of Tamil Nadu for the betterment of the Women in our Tamil Society.
Will the honourable Lady Chief Minister of the present Tamil Nadu Government very very kindly come forward to declare a day of the Year as the Tamil Nadu Women's Day - a day to "sit and talk", "discuss and decide", on ways and means of finding lasting solutions to the acute Social Problems of the Women of TamilNadu.

Mr. Sri Hari
This is a very sensitive topic which has to be handled very carefully.
Alike the general vision of society on ladies and gents, it is widely believed that girls alone have morality, she cant do whatever she wishes, she has to abide some unwritten rules for women etc. whereas a guy can lead a life as per his wish.
I dont know who had sown this seed. but the society looks at a girl like angel and a guy like a theru porukki.
A guy will not get justification in public, police station, court anywhere, whereas a girl can easily gain their sympathy, just because she is a girl.
imagine, a girl just screams that you eve-teased her, even u didnt know who she is, just think the crowd will support who. had i been in that crowd, i am sure,i would definitely support that girl only. that has become a nature tendency. i dont know whether it could be changed. this is because ladies are considered to be a weeker sex.
so, marriage is not only a risk for girls, it is equally a risky factor for guys, these days, to have a girl in his life.
anyway, i agree there are girls who suffer because of dowry harassment. but do u believe how many false cases are filed against guys in the women police station for dowry harassment and how many families reputation is spoiled? just have a real survey. when a girl goes to the police station for the right cause, she is very much judged but does that happen in a guys case or does that happen had the girls claim in a false one? can u explain me on this ?
tamilnadu women's day : i dont know why u need another women's day when we already celeberate march 8th as international women's day. all the activities which u have listed, can be done on the same march 8th itself. can't we?
what i think about creating aware for women equalify is, instead of creating awareness on women, we can always educate ourselves, men, which would be more effective. if we correct ourselves, i think much destruction could be avoided, because we are the cause for the problem and not ladies. so the cause has to be corrected. isnt it ?
