Basically, in tamil, there are many different pronounciations that varies in different countries. What I am confused about is which tamil pronounciation is the right one?

Tamizh is the correct one. "Tamil" was invented by the British. "Tamil Nadu" should change it's name to "Tamizh Nadu"

Most people say "Thamizh", that is how it is referred in Kerala(just the fact the "zha" is the most important letter Malayalam language), others may say "Thamil". West Indians in Toronto say Tamil as "Tameel", or "Tameelians".
