hey, i'm sure that the tamil-sinhala conflict is known to the UN for a long time. so my question is, what has the UN done to resolve this conflict?

by the way, what can the UN do to resolve the conflict?

During the raid by a large group of Police personnel, the journalist, Mr. Sivaram Dharmeratnam (‘Taraki’), a political affairs columnist for English and Tamil papers published from Colombo and a member of TamilNet's editorial board, was away in Batticaloa in connection with the World Press Freedom Day on Monday, 3 May. The journalist’s family said that the raid was intimidating. Mr. Dharmeratnam was threatened and intimidated several times in the past for his comments and reporting on Tamil issues. //

I'm living in Canada and I know Thamizh and perhaps some people don't but that's what happen when you migrate to foreign country..yet Thamizh medias and organizations here try their best to keep Thamizhan as Thamizh under worse situations..but it's hard unless there is a country to help. You should know that. The Government of Sri Lanka tried to get rid of Thamizhans from Thamizheezham by sending them to foreign countries in another word 'The SL government and Singhalese wanted to say: Thamizhans don't belong in Thamizheezham!'..and they succeeded most of the time as the Thamizh refugees fled to SLA..since SLA gained support from foreigners as (H)India and other nations labelled Thamizh Tigers as 'TERROIST!' thus seeking for their life had led them to go to foreign countries..and now they wonder why they left...they are enslaved as refugees and immigrants although some may have a good life..the parents wish they had known about the Cultural conflicts to everything of modern world before they arrived here..and now they are suffering the consequences..and the SL government decreased the number of MP's seats in Jaffna from 10 to 9..and Thamizh Tigers (LTT) who prevented Thamizhans from abandoning the THamizheezham were hated by some Thamizhans..and are hated by few even now..due to brain-washing.
  
  Your Singhalese army or (H)Indian army can't defeat LTT. Nor can U.S.A or any other militas as long as LTT holds the Thamizh support and be strong. So don't babble like a baby.
