why can't Hindu woman re-marry if there are widowed

I have seen many young married hindu woman who lost loved ones and not remarrying.But a man can why is that.Isn't it allowed in hindu. I'm sorry for any offence, just want to know.

Kan, in olden times widows were seen as mothers of all wisdom. They were very highly respected. Examples are Queen Kunti who was the Queen mother for the pandavas even after her husband (Pandu's death) and Queen Madiri. The three Queens of Dasharatha also stayed as Queen Mothers in Ayodhya after Dasharatha's death. (Kausalya, Sumitra and Kaikeyi).

Kan, there are no injunctions in the sastras which prevent a widow from remarrying.
Swami Chinmayananda said that we first have to convert Hindus to Hinduism. What an apt statement!
