I stick to my earlier arguments regarding Colombo Tamils. Again, the most important thing to note is the large numbers (exceeding 100,000). For anyone to assert that such a huge number is one and all under psychological pressure is ridiculous. This past summer, I went with Tamil boys to Liberty Plaza (shopping center), the beach, etc. We were never stopped at checkpoints! I do not know that anyone even carried a National Identity Card – we had better things to talk about. We did not talk about the activities of the SLA, for one thing. We talked as youth talk. I believe I can safely conclude that carpet bombings or shellings were not at the top of the list of their priorities. Oh yeah, I went to some houses too, and it was one and the same – I always enjoyed myself.
Regarding the use of child soldiers, I have a genuine interest in the welfare of these children. There is no way to justify using children in combat. War is for grown men.
Regarding certain unorthodox behaviors of the SLA (such as the experience of an aunt of yours) a large percentage of this is inevitable. The nature of war is inclined towards brutality. Despite the so-called Geneva Conventions and all, certain behaviors will always persist. Ultimately, there is only so much a government can do to enforce punitive measures as a means of disciplining an army. Given the stakes involved in the SL conflict, preserving territorial integrity has always been the main priority of the SL government. I do not condone any disreputable behavior on the part of the SL army, indeed, I strongly condemn it. But, if you ask me, the battlefield is the worst place to teach anyone manners. The home (family environment) is the best place for that. Also, sufficient educational access makes a big difference. You must be aware that this is a “poor man’s war” (its being fought largely by the lower classes).
Finally, concerning colonization schemes, I stick roughly to my earlier argument. I do not know, however, the full extent of this practice. Only the LTTE and UTHR seem to have anything to say about it. While I give credence to UTHR reports (the same group which produced the “Broken Palmyrah”) I am at a loss as to how Amnesty International, ICRC, and other NGO’s fail to ever mention the practice.
One more point to make. Dividing the country will be disastrous for everyone. You know how the small the island. What chance of an economy is there if all the resources aren't pooled together. Even the so-called Tamil Eelam would not be immune. Both North and South would be two third world countries forever. This, among other things, is why Tamils should stick to a united Sri Lanka. Anyway, you must know what the International Community in general thinks of the LTTE. Prabhakaran has a death sentence on his head. Can you expect any sort of viable trade agreements with the outside world, given that Tamil Eelam came into existence?

Selvaratnae your vijaya stories and things are bogus do u want to know why? I wanted to post something regarding the history of singhalese and Thamizh.
First of all there is no south Indian illusion or things. The history of all Thamizh started in the 'kumarikandam' or as you'd known as Lemuria and the left over land of Kumarikandam is the Madagscar and the Eezham which is in ur language Sri Lanka so to be more specific including Sri Lanka and Thamizheezham. Now when natural crisis took part in Lemuria...Thamizh often moved around and settled north so somewhere mid-place in nowday India and so when these group of migrated people, who lived around a jungle where there were lions and later on they came back to Eezham where they settled around "Anurathapuram" and had a flag of their own and spoke a different dialect of Thamizh which wasn't that much similar to Thamizh due to the fact these people left their homeland long ago and in all those years with no communication they lost the touch with the language. The term Singhalam is spoke as if it stand for lot of meanings and I recently read something about these people speaking kodunthamizh and the term singhalam came from it anyway not so sure but i'll tell u about it later on so these people after setlling near Anurathapuram started take over other lands nearby but they still had nothing against Thamizh but the anti-Thamizh thing grew into them after being converted to buddhism which made Singhalese people to be more of against their fellow ancestory root Thamizhars and not to mention what happened in mahavamsam where "Thuttakaimunnu" is mentioned because he was a buddhist and that Ellalan wasn't because he was "sivaniyan" yes Singhalese have equvilaent history as Thamizh in a sense but Singhalese have changed their way of culture and language that have differed them from their past. And Thamizh ancestory root isn't Rahul Dravid fool. We aren't Dravid we are Thamizh i'm tired of explaining this (Thamizhar--->Dramilar---> Dravidar.)
