Tell me about the Tuluva Vellalar community.
R they pillais or mudaliyars?
R they vegetarians?
What is their primary occupation?
In which districts we can find them?

The thuluva vella community hailed from the Present District of thiruvannamalai in Tamilnadu.
actually this diaspora is having the basic occupation of agriculture.but they are known themselves in different names in different districts of tamilnadu.in salem they are called as
chettis they are doing business,in velur and bound areas they are called as vella mudaliyas
in south districts they are known as pillais .thay are vegetarians only.they are mainly concentrated in velur and surrounding areas.
the people of this community from salem migrated from thiruvannamalai district some hundred years ago because of a famine caused in tamilnadu.
thier rituals and marriage customs are some what differ from other communities of tamilnadu.the thali weared by this community women is of unique style and also the bride grooms wear a small metal strip in thier forehead during marriage.
nose piercing is also seen in some areas of tamilnadu to wear the mookkuthi
