Hello
I want to know the origins and celebrations of Kaaman Pandigai. It is used to be celebrated in our native village when I was a boy in the sixties as "modernity" creeps in the traces of the celebrations are gone. I remember the character of RAthi and Manmathan are donned by youngsters (males) and they gyrate in a slow rhythm to the beating of drums through the strrets forthe whole night. Lord SHiva ultimately destroy the kaaman that is lust.
This is in brief what I know about the festival. If any body knows more details or furnish the information such as books where I can get more information I would be grateful.
