Globalisation has deeply impacted Tamil people in all ways. No doubt some have benefitted , a lot of Tamil people have emigrated to Canada, UK, US and Singapoer and thriving in work and business. But is that enough? Millions of Tamils in Tamilagam have been deeply hurt by globalisation. Lakhs of Tamil workers have lost jobs. Farmers of Tamilnadu are in deep distress and debt. And privatisation is increasing unemployment in millions.Tamilnadu's poverty is increasing and villagers are struck by severe poverty while the rich and powerful enjoy Luxury cars and swimming pools
Should Tamil People support globalisation. The educated Tamils must examine if the Globalisation is harmful to Tamil culture and people.

First of all I am surprised that the elite Tamils who most often are beneficiaries of globalisation do not seem to talk about globalisation. Is it because they do not want to talk about it? or if they begin to talk, their conscience would prick? or they do not know anything about this serious issue? I am unhappy to see that no discussion has been carried out since the question was posted in this page (Fri,Mar 29)!!
Well, globalisation has totally domolished the life, politics, culture and economy of the poor globally. The Tamils are not exception to that! In Tamilnadu, everyday so many issues are sprouting out like mushrooms. It's all because of globalisation. But the politicians of Tamilnadu, knowingly and willingly avoid this issue to discuss. Whereas, they divert the minds of the people blaming eachother political parties for their policies. No matter DMK or AIDMK or any other political parties, who ever comes to the power are bound to carry out the anti-poor policies of globalisation. The gap between the rich and poor is increasing. The poor are swindled by new economic policies. As result Tamils are losing their identity. This attack of Globalisation has been successfuly carried out by the vested interests of the powerholders. In lay language, we might say that Congress introduced this globalisation but infact the power holders in the caste system deliberately wanted this globalisation in order to sustain thier supremacy. Because they do not know anything about the sweat of the Backward and Dalit communities who labour under the hot sun and gain nothing. This truth was affirmed when the BJP govt opened all the avenues for the free marketing (it is ridiculous to see them talking about Swedeshi!) At last the affected poor are Tamils. I would continue when I get response from Tamil friends....
Bye now
