Hello,

I have a friend who is a tamil iyer. She is in love with a telugu brahmin boy. Problem is they belong to the same gothram. Is marriage between them acceptable? I read that such marriages can produce offspring with genetic problems or there may be problems during childbirth. But, I know of many cases where the girl was adopted by a relative (of a different gothram) and the marriage was performed. If there was a risk of genetic problems - why would this be an accepted workaround? Can someone out there help me out with this?

  As I will be away on a business trip for the next few days, let's not argue about this useless accusation by some unknown person of snobbishness which is baseless. If such a person was in my presence and had said it, I would have certainly argued with him on the merits of his allegation and his impartiality. He is hiding 1000s of miles away. His e-mail address is not readily available.He did not reply to my queries. He assumed the position of a "judge" and blabbered! Let's kick him out of the picture and so we become friends again.   At the karaoke, they gave me an old song to sing. I sang not so well but liked the lines. The lines carried the meaning which if expressed ordinarily, may be interpreted as too proud or whatever. That is why sometimes we have to see things with the artistic eye. The lines are:

  But one thing: of the girls there, I am the tallest (5'9" ) and on the slim side. I felt shy and tried to shorten my height by hunching my back a bit.
  Uncomfortable. That is to share with you those lighter moments. You did not want to e-mail me. So we have discuss openly. Nothing wrong but people again will say I am bragging about my height or that we did not pursue our dispute fully. bbye from shyam.

  That is fantastic! But one Japanese girl was asking me how you all can grow so tall eating thosai and vadai much of time....I could not answer. May be dhall contains all the nourishment....Another tall Indian girl told me that she drank ribena from small. Must discover the secret. Can give up this job and make money!
