  The TN Govt may take a decision to include DEVENDRA KULA VELLALAR in MBC list. The people who want to continue in SC list , may continue as "DEVENDRA KULATHAR'". In SC list instead of many entries like,"vathiriyar", pallar", kudumban",devendra kulathar",pannadi",kaladi","mooppan",there should be only one entry ie.,DEVENDRA KULATHAR.Those who are having SC certificates , they can change certificates as either DEVENDRA KULATHAR[SC] OR DEVENDRA KULA VELLALAR[MBC].   devendras! are you strugglding for all devendra kulavellalars or particular branches only in TN.jaffna pallar will never include with sc list or BC list because, they are srilankan citizen.you should climb the right for all pallar(mallar)by internationaly.the jaffna pallars were arrived there before 200 years from cholaNaadu.you can read or know from the historical book which is ``yaalpana vaipavamaalai``.this is true.they have some branches some of them,vathiriyarpallar who live in by their cast name as VATHIRI.the jaffna pallars are belonging to the cholas kingdom.here is no booking cast system in the certificate.they have ecconomical improvment.they will never give up their cast glory. because they come from cholaNaadu to jaffna for plant and cultivate.yes !yes! the jaffna history discribes so.you and they should give your voice mutually only to caste freedom .

  First of all, this 'Kshatriya' is a North Indian phenomenon and does not apply to Tamils. In the earlier tamil conutry, most of the castes supplied warriors whenever there were calls for enlistment. Chozhas even had generals who were Brahmins. The one who won Ganges for Rajendra Chozha was a Bramin. Paranjothi or Sirithonda Nayanar who won Vatapi for Narasimha Pallavan and Kalipakaiar who died in the previous battle for Mahendra Pallavan were Velalars. If being a warrior is the only criteria for calling oneself as 'Kshatriya', then i guess all tamil castes can be called one. On the one hand, Pallars, Nadars and Vaniyars have been treated badly in the existing caste System, it sounds silly when the same castes try and use the same caste system to upgrade themselves.

  Why are u guys calling yourself as Devendra Kula Velalar? All the other communities that have attached Velalar to their caste name have been carrying it historically, excepting one or two like Isai velalar. Thanks to Karunanidhi, Isai Velalar has even got into TN gazette and has become a common name these days. Similarly, You guys, Pallars, are also wanting to appropriate this appendix for yourself when there are no historical evidences linking you to Velalars excepting that you have been their farm labourers if not for a long time but atleast for a few hundred years. Before that, even you guys seem to be claiming yourselves as Mallars and Pallis (Vanniar kind) and Kshatriyas. They why call yourself as Velalars who are not Kshatriyas according to North Indian caste hirearchy, but sudras? Why don't you guys call yourself as Devendra Kula Mallar Kshatriyas? Don't you all think that sounds more grander than Devendra Kula Velalar?

  Dear aSR, As vanniya kula kshatriyas , WE ACAN ALSO BE CALLED DEVENDRA KULA KSHATRIYAR. But here the hitch is the word "kshatriya ' is not a tamil word. More over we not only warriors but also expert in agriculture/cultivation[velanmai].Yes it is debatable.

  Pallar,this word means in srilanka`s every historical bookings ploughman or plougher(plough).therefore,pallar means Velalar.it is not only,they are ever farmer,they are ever velalar.they are suitable to call themselves as thevendrakulaVellalar(in india and srilanka).
