Hai people,
One more post on kalki ... I was just curious about the principal character in SS. Whether she is a part of history or she was just a fictional character of kalki.
SriHari, waiting for your thoughts on this....
Thanks for the answers,
Raj

She is a fictional character!
The novel's epilogue itself says so.
Naga nandi, etc though were real

Of course Sivagami sabatam is a fictional character. A woman would have never even limited freedom those days. Till recent times, women were treated as slaves and chattels. A character like Sivakami could have never existed in ancient times and the Men would have never allowed independent minded woman to exist alive those days.

Kosu,
In case i am not wrong, there are histories,
which points out
women priests,
women artisans,
women soldiers
in ancient times.
They played wonderful roles as rajathandris or rajmathas too.
come the Medievial era, the messege of sexual discrimination started cropping up.
So since Sivagami character belongs to medievial era, u could say such freedom would not have been possible. But then if intelligent and great characters like
"Kundavai"
and
"NANDINI" (I love that character! Wish I was her! (JUST A JOKE)
existed in rajaraja chozha's reign, u cant say
independant women could not have existed.
May be the ratio would be low.
