I am interested in the history of Iyers and
how and why they migrated to south India.
A lot of theories are floating around but
there is still a lot of speculation about
the exact history of the Iyers.

I am a college student born and brought up
in the US, my interest in this topic was
triggered when an American friend asked me
what my surname means ! I would appreciate
any information from people who have some
knowledge reg this and especially from other
Iyers.
