I think that verbal abuse is just as bad, or sometimes worse than physical abuse. With physical abuse, you do heal over a brief period of time, but verbal abuse never heals. The words you hear are always in the back of your mind and continually hurt. And over time they build up so much that its hard to think positive anymore.

I agree. Alot of people will take all of the abuse from someone else instead of stopping it and telling the person to leave them alone. The abused person will feel so much anger inside that it builds up and then SNAP! Someone will say something negative to the abused person and that person finds hinself getting the wrap for something someone else did. Example:
A kid is going to school. He is routinely bullied mercilessly. By teachers, by school mates. He feels so much anger until one day, someone comes along says the wrong thing to the kid and the kid turns on him. Or the kid who was bullied becomes a bully as an adult. He bullies someone smaller than himself and the person he is bullying turns on the bully. I hate bullies. They are so cruel.
I have been called names, made fun of and so many things when I was going to school. It is confirmed. People can be so cruel.

I believe verbal abuseis worse then physical abuse,I'm in no way saying physical abuse is not horrific and senseless i have been married twice in my first marraige of 5 years i suffered physical abuse and it was horrible.i am now married to mysecond husbandand have been for 16 years he does not physically abuse me but verbally abuses me ona daily basis. just today he was telling me how i am a waste of oxagen someone else couldbe using. verbal abuse kills the spirit and if you kill the spirit you kill the person. i just turned forty years old and i have started looking at life different and i plan on getting off of this crazy roller coaster evenas i write this.

Stephanie,
If that jerk bugs you again, tell him to shut his mouth or you will knock his face in the next time he bothers you.

Stephanie,
One more thing I forgot to add on..
Each time that "man" calls you down, does he abuse you to the point that you are just about crying and later, he will say the famous line, "I am sorry. It WON'T happen again"? I hate people who bully others or keep others down or abuse their authority to bully or keep down others others. I put up with that garbage for a looooongggg time first time was at different points from when I was just a toddler until I was going on 18, second time when I was living in a town 200 kilometers SE of where I am at now mainly in the time from 1998 until just before I moved here. I am so happy I am away from the people who beat me, raped me, called me down, bullied/picked on me, and so many other things. Those people were so mean. Anyone who tried to stick up for me was held down.

Both are just as bad, but verbal abuse can have a worse effect as it paves the way to psycholigical abuse. Many times people verbally abuse others out of a lack of control of anger and rage. If people could only take their time and think before they blurt out anything, this world may be a better place to live.

Both are just as deadly. Telecom companies are a heaven for verbal bullies and mind control to staff members.

I am doing a research paper on the different ways in which both physical and verbal, as well as emotional abuse can harm a person. I feel that verbal and physical abuse are very harmful in that the wounds from physical abuse heal, but it is the feeling and the words that were spoken at that time that will stay with a person. A simple scar never haunts someone, it is the memory that goes along with the scar that does the haunting.
If any of you have any sights that you would like to recommend to me supporting my ideas, or any studies that you know of then that would be greaty appreciated. I would love your input.\
Thankyou

again a cut & paste question 4 the ltte man here since the thread on "why do tamils look down on telugus" was removed:
nedunchezhiya, u claim parts of karnataka, andhra, whole of tamil nadu and kerala as tamileezham. can u plz enlighten us as on what basis did u reach the conclusion that only these areas belong to the proposed tamileezam. since u believe that only dravidians established the indus valley civilization, u shd claim those lands in pakistan, afghanistan and the whole on india (hw abt china too) as tamileezham. why aren't u ltte ppl doing that?
