I always wondered which political party has the values of Tamils, the answer may be none. then again what are the Tamil values when comes to Politics.
1) if they are in USA should they support Republicans or Democrats ?
2) if they are in Canada should they support the Liberals or the conservatives.

Tamil is oldest or not is not the argument, But the big question is can it survive with handful of backward Tamilians, Can every Tamilian support it . Majority are changing their medium of language due to its demi nature of existence. There is no vocabulary (incomplete), many phonetics are missing. In Korea I have seen Tamilians are looked down due to their mispronounciations of many words due to many consonants missing. pa, fa, ba,dha, tha etc. One can often see a normal Tamilian can never pronounce anything in its real form however simple it is . Simple example is some of my friends in Seoul pronounce Magaraja for maharaja restaurant in Sinchon area.
I know some of Tamilians will even bash me. They would not spare even their Tamil brother if he talks reality. But who cares?
But then world has to see who would be the ultimate looser?

Chennai, Dec 22:
Five men who were involved in a fracas over an eve-teasing incident were arrested this morning.According to police, two post graduate students, both residents of Ayyappanthangal, allegedly teased a woman staying in the opposite house.
Irked by their behaviour, the woman's husband and his two friends went to the students' house last evening and broke a television, personal computer and other items. Both lodged complaints against each other and the five were arrested.

Dear Suresh,
You are absolutely correct. Good percentage of our Tamils are suffering from some sort of "terrible inferiority complex".
That is why they are looking up at the Western Culture, and looking down upon their own Beautiful Language, Rich Traditions, and Refined Culture interwoven with Spiritual & Ethical values.
That is why these Tamils also think, that it is "below their dignity" to speak in Tamil - with the other fellow Tamils, but only in "Elocution and accent filled English" having a view that it is only then that they will command the respect of the other Tamils in the Society, and be able to move forward in the elite circles "imitating" as persons coming from the "socially - highly reformed Tamil families".
When will all these Tamils wake up from their "false sense of values" ???? Only time can tell us.

PRESERVING TAMIL CULTURE GLOBALLY
If the Tamils in TamilNadu and elsewhere in the World, especially in the Western Countries wish to retain their's and their children's identity as Tamils - without being lost in the new waves of Globalisation, or being absorbed, assimilated and lost among the Societies in the Western Countries, it is essential that the responsible Parents impose the practice of Tamil Culture among themselves, and their Children from their very young age.
I list below a "few ways and means" by which we could preserve the Tamil Culture among Tamil Adults, and the upcoming young Tamil Generation (the children)the World over.
(1) All Parents should teach their children to call them - as Appa & Amma instead of Dad & Mum, and as Mama & Mami instead of Uncle & Aunt, irrespective of whether they are coming from a rich elite Tamil society, or from moderate or poor families.
(2) Tamils World over should allways respect their mother tongue & speak in good Tamil with all the other fellow Tamils. They should speak in English "only" with people speaking different other languages, and thereby cannot understand the Tamil language.
(3) All Tamils both Adults and Children should make it a practice to read more Tamil Books, Tamil - Journals & Newspapers, in addition to the English Materials. "It is not below anyone's dignity or social status to read Tamil Materials."
(4) Wherever possible "Tamils should appreciate and wear their traditional dresses the "Pavadai, Thavani, Sarees, Irrataikkarai Vesti, MelAngi & Salwai", dressed in a neat and refined way, "at least" at all Tamil - Social, Religious and Public functions, and at Tamil Weddings, rather than wearing the Western Dresses.
(5) All Tamils should be encouraged to serve rich Tamil - Traditional Meals, Sweetmeats and Shorteats, rather than serving Western meals, Shorteats and Fast foods, at Tamil - Social Functions, Religious Functions, Birthday Parties and at Marriage Functions.
(6) All Tamil Students should be taught Tamil History, Culture, Fine Arts, Traditions & Practices, at least up to the 6th standard, along with the study of Thirukkural the "Tamil Code of Ethics".
(7) Women in Tamil Nadu and elsewhere should be provided with equal status with men in every field, and the thinking "that women are in noway second to men", should be instilled in the minds of the Tamil adults, and among the Tamil children from their very young age.
(8) Keeping in line with Tamil traditions Eve teasing & Sexual harassment of all sorts whether - in public or private places, in schools or universities, or in the working places - should be prevented with all sincereity.
Women whether young or old should be given their due respect and justice at homes and in public, and provided with equal opportunies with men in all walks of life.
