Tamils of TamilNadu should collectively prevent unscrupulous elements in TamilNadu, sending out of the country the ancient art treasures of TamilNadu of archaeological value.

We hear from Newspapers, Journals, and through Radio News, of the Hindu Temples in TamilNadu being robbed of their very ancient Bronze Idols of Hindu Gods and other artifacts of immense archaeological value, by unscrupulous elements in Tamil Nadu to make quick money for themselves.
These are said to be stealthily exported to foreign countries especially to the Western Countries where there are high demand for genuine Chola Hindu Bronzes.
TamilNadu authoriries should "arrange" to tighten the Customs-Check not only at their Ports but at the Ports in the neighbouring states too, to prevent such drain of TamilNadu's rich heritage.

Dear Srihari
What is wrong in seling very ancient Bronze Idols of Hindu Gods and other artifacts of immense archaeological value, by unscrupulous elements in Tamil Nadu to make quick money for themselves?
I cant understand this craze for preserving stupid idols and statues within India. They are of zero use and total waste. In this age of science religion is big waste and rubbish.Very very sad that even in the land of Tamizhnadu which great rationalist Periyar was there we are hanging on to these waste material statues
If there are foolish idiots to buy these statues we must sell them immediatly.Possibly we should sell all temples and every idol must be got rid of.TamilNadu will be better off with these trash gotten out.

I'm saddened by the comments of Kirubaker. He needs to have his head examined. To call our exquisite statues rubbish is ludicrous, short sighted and narrow minded. Our temples filled with beautiful bronze and granite statues are a big part of our culture. It's not about religion. I'm an atheist myself, but would not disrespect cultural objects like the Taliban does in Afghanistan.

What if Customs officers and Archaelogy officers themselves involved along with police? Who can stop that, when one such idol fetches crores of rupees.

Tamilnadu is place from where news doesn't reach outside the world and hence lot of mal-practice still known to be polite and gentle. But officials here are total corrupt and the news never comes out.
Lot of smuggling of dravid heritage.
