What is a Vanniyar aand why do they have such a wide range of titles? Are Naickers from Chingleput also Vanniyars?

  Gounder is an "Adaimoli" sometimes given to
  Kurumbar(kannada Speaking, cattle raisers)
  Ooralis(agri Misc, kannada speaking in places around theni)
  If you speak like this any Kongu Vellala will hit a villakkannai like you.

  Padayachi is the major caste in Tamil nadu and has about 30 million people in north districts. very powerful people and defended south india forever. Even muslim dynasty could not win this land. That is why its king was called 'Venru mann konda sambuvarayar' after fall of PAndiyas to Alavudin kilgi. Even vijayanagara empeor (Naickers) compromised before taking back Madurai from Sultans.
  
  Coming to British rule, 'Padai veedu' (is is in North arcot district) cannot be won by them and two Vanni brothers defended from British. No movie is taken yet about this story about Kadavarayan and Sendavarayn brothers. What a shame to Tamil community.

  if u talk like that in vanniar belt, untamed vanniars will nuke your mouth man. Anyway, 40% of tamil population is vanniar related caste and they do very badly in education, and status. Let them have some ramdas to address their woes. Afterall, even after 5000 years of brahmin jaalra, brahmins still dominate and they constitute only 1-2% of tamil population.

The Rajini fans were attacked in madurai only by PMK.Dont say dr ayya has no voice in south. we devendra kula vellalars are there for" ayya".Madurai, Tirunelveli, Ramanathapuram, Theni and all PMK is dominated by Devendras only. In periyakulam 1989 MP election PMK got 60000 votes because of Devendras. Mudukulathore MLA constituency PMK came second .In south 60 constituencies pmk got sizeable vote bank of Devendras.

  Most indian races were formed whn waves of newcomers kept intermingling with races previously present in india - of mixed or pure australoid, mongloid, dravidian, etc, descent.
  Vanniyars too are a mixed group. Some are pure dravidian amongst them and some are of central asian descent. They are related to Central Asian and North African tribes [whereevr the origin maybe] like many telugu, tamil, kannada, bengali, marathi, central indian, oriya, malayalee & srilankan (sinhala & tamil) ppl.
