  We are deeply disappointed the Organizers of the Mega Star Night in London are stubbornly persisting in their folly to stage the event despite the mounting criticism by well-meaning individuals and organizations worldwide.
  
  What worries the Thamil Diaspora are the timing and the purpose of the Mega Star Night. Firstly the Star Night is being held when Thamil nationalists like Vaiko, Pazha Nedumaran, Suba Veerapandian and other Thamil activists are behind bars. Secondly the Thamil refugees in Vanni and elsewhere are wallowing in squalor and disease. Unlike the affluent Thamils in London, they are unable to enjoy even one solid meal a day. They livie in huts not taller than 5 feet. The children are undernourished and suffer from third degree maturation. Most of the pregnant mothers are anemic and give birth to underweight babies. Finally, the funds raised are not for a worthy cause, but for the benefit of the elite Producers of films in Thamil Nadu.
  
  The film producers by no means could be called as 'poor.' There are others like the peasants of Thanjai delta who are virtually starving because of the crop failure. The Karnataka state refused to make available Cauvery river waters despite pleas by the Thamil Nadu government and other civic organizations.
  
  In the circumstances it will be a supreme insult to the intelligence of the Thamil Diaspora if the organizers of the Star Night are seen to receive and entertain cine artists from TN. The woes of the TN film producers should be laid at the door of the greedy super stars who dominate Thamil cinema. That is the very actors and actresses who are participating in this event. These actors and actresses are demanding and are getting paid exorbitant salaries even before the shooting of the film commences. Some of the front-line actors like Rajani Kanth, Kamal Hassen, Vijakanth, Vije, Madhavan, Vikram, Sarath Kumar are getting paid anything between 4-6 crores of rupees. Even a newcomer to the screen like Simpu says he is getting paid Rs.4 crores for a film! To a producer their huge fee is almost half the budget for the film. Thus with an overloaded budget the producers borrow finance from greedy financiers like the Marvadis in Chennai at exorbitant interest rates.
  
  Recently G.Venkadeswaran (G.V.), brother of Mani Ratnam committed suicide when he was harassed and insulted by a financier who has lent him money. He lost money heavily on f ilms like Thamizhan and Sokath Thangam. Wijekanth acted in the leading role in Sockath Thangam.
  
  So if actors like Wijekanth are interested in bailing our producers he should reduce his own salary and set an example to others. . Or settle the producers' debts from his bloated bank balance. Equally he should persuade other actors and actresses to reduce their exorbitant salaries. It is certainly not the "duty" or "obligation" of Eelam Thamils to bailout bankrupt film producers. It is unfair and immoral to exploit gullible Thamil Eelam Thamils to part with their money under the cloak of entertainment.
  
  Every penny of Thamil Diaspora should go to these unfortunate victims of an ugly war rather than to the already affluent and rich producers and cine artists from Thamil Nadu.
  
  We strongly urge the elitist Thamils who does not know what starvation means to the poor and down trodden among us and who sponsored this Mega Star Night to call off the event forthwith.
  
  It is unwise and a supreme insult for the organizers to stage such an event when our kith and kin virtually live in abject poverty and squalor in the Northeast

  The Tamil actors who used to say the Tamil film
  viewers as 'Vaazha vaikkum theivam', didn't worry
  about the weavers(Nesavu thozhilaali) or farmers
  when they suffered even for food.
  
  They are not ready to do anything to the Tamils living outside India. But they beg to the Tamils of Malaysia, Singapore, London and Gulf.
  
  Tamils of Mauritius, Fiji, Reunion, South Africa
  and Guyana are loosing their Tamil language and
  identity. Tamils of those countries are very much interested to learn and revive Tamil language and
  culture. Indian Government is helping only to
  promote Hindi in these countries. Tamil nadu
  government is not worrying about them.
  If these Tamil stars take initiative to rise
  fund to promote Tamil in those areas it will
  be appreciable.
  
  I don't understand why Malaysian Tamils being
  mad about Cinema. Malaysia is doing a lot to
  bring Tamil to the computer field. But on the
  other side they are worshipping actors as real
  heroes.
  
  In the star night Prasanth invented a new
  concept(DIRTY CONCEPT). He lifts a selected
  girl on his hands. Dance master Kala cheered up
  her as LUCKY GIRL. I don't understand where
  they are?
  
  I think that girl would not feel proud even
  she received a gift from H'ble.Dr.Abdul Kalaam.
  Film should be an entertainment media. It is not
  real life. Actors are not real heroes.

  Hindians will never allow TN tamils to cultivate
  roots in other countries where there is substantial tamil population. Hindi is promoted and taught free of charge in other countries, What is wrong if they teach tamil, not in all countries but in Guyana, Trinidad, mauritus, Singapore, Malaysia, Reunion, Fiji, Canada, U.S.A, U.K., If Hindi is given such patronage, why Tamil is not given. That means the Tamils in TN are not excercising their rights.

  The problem lies in us Tamils, a lot of us are shamed of speaking our own language and many places in Tamil Nadu and Malaysia they promote English Mediums rather than Tamil mediums. Why would any one want to study in English Medium when you live in Tamil Nadu or where ever tamilan lives. People making movies don't have no effort either. They make songs which are half English and use singers with "funny Tamil".
  
  One Time Anna was speaking at the UN. He spoke in Tamil. They asked him if he could not speak in English. He replied by speaking in clean English and they where all baffelled. Which means that we have really have to master our own language before mastering another one. One time Lione said in one of his programs, that children in London Sing, Rain Rain go away come again another day (Because it always rains in London). But in Tamil Nadu we teach the same song to the kids when the temperature is 35+ and The sun is frying your head. A lot of people forget how important our language and culture is and must be preserved at all cost.

  London Tamils prefer English over Tamil and they dont teach Tamil to their children. Few Sri Lankan Tamils now run week end schools to teach Tamil to their kids.
  
  Indian Tamils never involved in this TAMIL business but they try to make money out of TAMIL.
  
  Further the sufferings of TAMIL people in Sri Lanka are the product of LTTE which is backed by Britain.
  
  Those who cry for Tamil people in Sri Lanka, must ask LTTE to stop extortion of Tamils in Sri Lanka.
  
  Prabhakaran has sent his children to Australia but he demand others children to use as suicide bombers.
  
  So, the people who cry for TAMIL, are not really interested in the development of the language.
