It is surprising that still no Tamil writer has got the highest literary award in the country, viz, the Gananpith, after Akilan. Surely Jayakanthan deserves one, among the contemporaries. In the past people like Na.Pa, Mu.Varadarajan, should have got it. Any opinions?

  Read "The Prize" by Irwing Wallace.
  
  The awards and rewards are given nowadays only to the persons who have sponsors, supporters and affiliaters at different levels.
  
  Merit alone does not fetch any poet, singer, sportsman or even scientist o get laurels.
  
  The west media and world have been completel ignoring the east.
  
  Why T.M. Sundararajan or M. S. Subbulakshmi is not recognized as the western singers?
  
  Why only a particular Tamil poets are posing themselves as "Kavikko", "Perunkavikko" and and so on? Or these self-declared poets are more talented than the past ones?
  
  The present Tamil poets have been arrogant, self-centred and imbbed with sychophancy and therefore, they are after the ruling politicians to get their names nominated. That is why the real poets are neglected.
