I would like to dedicate this thread on the discussion of different styles of tamil being spoken in different parts of Tamilnadu and World.Has anyone done research on any cultural impact on the tamil speaking style.
I would also like some input on the tamil being used in the bible and tamil translation of Russian literature.

I am sure there must have been some research done into this field.
Must ask Dr.Naga. Ganesan. He has a very good bibliography collection.
But some extent of material has been already written on certain varieties such as Brahmanical Tamil, etc.
In the book 'Chettinaadum Centhamizum', the author SomalE - Letchuman s/o Somasundaram Chettiar has given a glossary of the words that are specifically used in Chettinad.
