I am pretty sure you are being sarcastic. We have Tamil names for the Metals used by the ancient tamils Like Irumpu (Fe), copper(Cu),Velli(Ag), Naham (Zn), Pon(Au), Eeyam(Pb) some gases like O2, Co2 etc. I think this is against the international regulation to call other metals with different names in the study of chemistry.
For example if you invent a metal and named as "senthil" an other Germans scientist cannot give another name in Geraman to the same metal.
In Srilanka we have Tamil medium schools even all sceince subjects are taught in Tamil. Although we invent and introduce many new scientific words to our Tamil vocabulary but we don't change the name of the metals but we might "Tamilze" some words like Hydrogen would be aytharasan, Nitrogen - naitharasan,Pottasium- same
everything else is the same.( I might be wrong I didn't spend very long time in the SL school system either)

Vipulananthar and His Research Group had already translated many of these elements into Thamizh. TN doesn't have THAMIZH BASED CURRICULUM! Hence these remains shadowed for many Thamizh people eyes.
