When there are several poems praising Thirukural and Valluvar written by Sangam era poets such as Mangudi Maruthanar, Arisil Kizhar, and
Nakkeerar, why there is a confusion regarding Valluvar's kalam. I will apreciate a detailed explanation from scholars who know about this?
I could not trust the works of KN.SASTRY and Vaiyapuri Pillai on this regard.

I've recently fallen in love with Thirukkural. If there are people around with whom I can have an intellectual exchange of opinions and ideas on Thirukkural I would welcome it.

Ms. R. Kalpana says :
//.... Kaliyugabtham (which is over 5000 years) and Salivahana Sahaptham? Valluvar's case is better than those. I wonder why those people did not target Kaliyugaptham when deciding about Valluvar's age.//
Reply:
The Total-Span of KALIYUGAM is 1,36,000 years according to Puraanaas, out of which about 5,400 years only have already passed off.
When there ia already a Thread named "THIRUKURALH", I suggest the participants to continue their debates there.
In that Thread the Religious aspect of Thirukkuralh has also been raised.

Mr. Srinivasan USA, This thread was started years before you started the thread named 'Thirukuralh'. Therefore, logically speaking, it is appropriate that you should have continued the discussion on this subject, just here or on a few earlier threads on Kural, instead of opening a new thread.

Dear Mr. Harikrishnan,
Yes. I would have continued this Thread if it were a General Title named THIRUKKURAL, wherein all the participants would have got an opportunity to put forth their view-points and analysis on different aspects and factors as concerned to this immortal evergreen Tamil-Scripture, a pride for every Tamilian in the Globe.
Whereas this Thread touches the only one pertaining aspect similar to other relevant past Threads, due to which reason alone, they could not maintain the continuity.
So I felt the necessity to open anew a GENERAL THREAD for the benefit of all, as a permanent Thread to be perpetuated on all the wide choice of pertinent aspects and factors as may be felt apt by one and all concerned, I wish and request.

Mr. Srinivasan USA, thanks for that grandiloquent response.
For your benefit, I am listing hereunder a few threads strated on Thirukkural earlier:
This is a permanent topic:

This thread is devoted to kAmaththup pAl:
http://forumhub.com/tlit/18610.16.58.00.html
This one is for Kural in film songs:

This one is on Thirukkural, the book divine:
http://forumhub.com/tlit/18123.09.36.13.html
This thread is with the title thirukkuRaL (which is more suited to discuss what you have started here, because this was started about 3 years back)
http://forumhub.com/tlit/14511.13.49.02.html
I do not object to your opening another thread for Thirukkural. It is for the Administration to say that. But it is strange that when you had the liberty to open a new thread, you are asking all the others to continue discussions in the thread started by you. It is all the more strange because the discussions on this thread stopped way back in 2000, that is three years back.
And, if you are serious about posting the right content under the right title, I am not able to understand the reason for your posting your 'poetry' (albeit it is meant to be a festival greeting) in almost every thread.
