Who is better as a person? You can only choose one, eithir Kanaki or Madhavi...Is Kanaki really a pathini? Do we really need a kanaki temple?

  I believe Kanaki, Madhavi and Koperum Devi(Queen) are all "Pathinis", because selapathigaram deals with the feelings of women in different situations and her reactions to it.
  
  All the three women reacted perfectly to their situations and proved the world how women should react if they face senario.

  I would believe, there should be particular reason why people worshiped Kanaki by building temple to her. I would try to explain with an quote from Thirukural by Thiruvalluvar.

  Yes, it is possible example: a King's baby gains fame and gets good blessings when it is in the mother's womb even before birth.
  But, for a begger's baby no body cares instead they curse him saying you can't take care of yourselves but still you need a baby huh.
  
  So kanaki is a pathini and was born in a good family and proved world how to face law and she was brave enough to face the king to prove her husband is not guilty.
