Introduction to lesser known authors in thamizh
Topic suggested by Gokul on Mon Mar 1 22:05:05 .
All times in EST +10:30 for IST.
This Thread is to shed light on lesser known authors in thamizh. Typically the writers whose works are not seen in mainstream thamizh magazaines.
Small literary magazines have always nourished thamizh literature without surrendering to commercial realities. I would like to do profiles on authors who have richly contributed to thamizh literature through such magazines and are icons for thamizh literature.

and published the same kavithai what Gokul placed in the other thread from kaNaiyAzhi.

Seh is an engineer from kOvai came to chennai for writing songs for the films (or in other words, well determined to spoil her creativity for money).
Thamizh ulagam can see another ezuththulaka vipachchAri like Balakumaran and Rangarajan.

Athavanin 'kAkitha malaRkaL' ChellappA may be the most realistic hero any tamil fiction has ever seen (with my confession that I have not got a chance to read a lot in the past seven years).
His untimely death in Cauvery was a great loss to the tamil literture..

dear gokul,
Is it possible for yu to say about lakshmi mannivannan short stories (His short story named "sannayasi" is also published in the current kalachuvadu)?

Rajagopal,
I have seen a collection of shortstories by Lakshmi Manivannan titled "36-A paLLam"
I think agaram has published it. I am not sure. I remember reading a shortstory of
his in one of the older issues of Kalachchuvadu. Infact from what I know
he used to be part of the Kalachchuvadu editorial team. The short story
that I read did not leave any impression on me.

ambai:
I recently read her collection of short stories
"vIttin mUlayil oru samayalaRai". She definitely sounds
much different from her contemporary woman authors who
write in thamizh. She employs succinct & bold language to deliver
the most impact and her themes are well-chosen. The story that
stands out in the collection is "vIttin mUlayil oru samayalaRai".
I thought that this story could have gone to another level if
it had not ended with that pep-talk. I loved the first story veLippAdu
too. cre-A has published this collection.

Dear gokul,
1.I have gone through yr review about lakshmi mannivannan's short stories, regarding mannivannan once again yu can go through 36-A pallam as jayamohan, Manushaputhran ,su-raa are considering mannivannan & he can do some thing ( see aaraamthinai jayamohan's interview)because the story teller's percepssion & style (some out like suresh kumar inderagith story style & mannivannan is having is own percepssion & poetic language) is new to tamil.Currently mannivannan is also one of the best among the short story writers those who are functioning.
2. How, yr are considering sankara narayanan & malan as a short story writer as they are commercial writers?
