Tamilians have their own culture, style of life, language ,God.Does it make any sense to call them Indians(Hindus itself-hinduism is not their religion)? It is obvious situation Tamilians are true aborigins of this so called sub-continent(dont call this India as Tamilians belong to this part before the arrival of Aryans)and political parties like BJP claim that aryans are true origins of this subcontinent(dont call it India).

Within one roof we can't expect full unity, then how will we expect unity with all people in India. First of all we have to destroy this narrow mentality. Be sure Tamiliyan or Tamil nadu is a part of India. There is no doubt. We may have individual language, religion, style, culture, God, land, resources, wealth, health etc etc. But it should not be compared with our nationalism. I am very proud to say we are "INDIANS" than any other quotes.

I don't accept tamils are Indians.Indian is the Vedic religion and I don't think tamils in terms of their religions and culture fit the definition of Indian.

Dear Harish,
Then can u say tamils are pakistanis or japanise or africans. No. Tamilans are pure Indians only. "Who all are born in the land of India are Indians. Who all are really loving their mother and land are Indians." There is no necessity to find it's meaning from any dictionery. This term and it's meaning should be avail from our soul & heart. There is no talk about culture, religion, languages, style, positions, etc. Nationality is apart from these things. We cann't seperate our patriotism by these particles. If we think India is our mother, then the other things are our brothers, sisters, cousins like that. First we have to give more importants to our mother only. After that the other things to be considered.

Even though I was born in sri lanka Iwill always call myself an Indian, because our ancestors were from India. That is the reason most of the sri lankan tamils watch tamil films from india. They don't listen to freedom fighters' songs or try to improve sri lanka if they think they are sri lankan tamils.
We are all Indians, and I'm proud about it.
Thirukural and Thevaaram where did they come from?
I need an Indian man to marry. It will happen one day.At the moment I fancy two of them, but very soon it will be one who I will marry next year in Thamil Nadu.

Although I'm a Malaysian by nationality,I am proud to call myself as an Indian.Even in our Birth Certificate here,we're cathegoried as Indian by race and hindus by religion.
In my opinion,Tamilians are still can be called as Indians no matter where they are, what's their culture and laguage.

Tamils are Indians by ethnicity and geography. But I think The word Indian specifically brings to mind the vedic culture , esp of NI and from that point of view tamils are not Indians. But I think we can call them Indians. We should live together and not fight amongst ourselves.

No Srilankan Tamil consider them Indians. We are
Srilankans period, we might have some loyalty to the Land of Tamils - the North East coast of India and we pay attention to the events in there.
Our ancestors didn't come from India, thousands of years ago theie wasn't any INDIA.
