i would give up the language than the religion for the language is only a media of communication and only a part of a civilization where as the religion is a school of thought which would make a man a perfect man and a perfect man a god. because the mahavakyas of all vedas refer to one single context i.e. you are god. i.e. as vaLLuvar had rightly quoted "vaiyathuL vAzhvAngu vAzhvAn vAnuraiyum theiyvathuL vaikkappadum". what is needed in this world of unrest is the perfect harmony which only religion can bring. leave the extremists from all the folds, they neither understand their religion nor the others. first patiently learn what your religion has in store for you. without knowing it deeply dont just raise cries of criticism.

"vaiyathuL vAzhvAngu vAzhvAn vAnuraiyum theiyvathuL vaikkappadum".
Mr. Mocking Senthamizhan, your one of the anti-Thamizh and anyone can notify that from how you talk with having such an alias. Anyway, The above kural means, those who lives on this Earth accordingly, shall be considered equal and respected like the God.
Living on this world has nothing to do with Religions. Language isn't just a tool that u or ur grandpa invented. It's an evolution of human communication through thousands of years or more. Just like how humans evolved, the language was evolved in a similar way. Sound waves, sound DNA etc are important aspects of our life. Religions were created by humans, language evolved with the humans.

Thiru Nedunchezhian,
i respect your views but i am afraid that i can not accept yo;ur auguement. as language evolved along with the civilization so the religion. the needs for both made possible the evolution. again let me tell you Tamizh is one of the best languages of the world, still religion was and is the nourisher of our beloved Tamizh. everyone loves his mother. i think you also love. when it comes to saying who possesses the top priority- mother or language? i could guess you would say it is the language. it doesnot mean that you dont love your mother. that was the way i gave priority to religion than the language. the part of a language is to communicate matters of religious or non religious and all other matters with one another. i am not mocking by having an alias name as senthamizhan for i love Tamizh like you do, but i am not a fanatist.

Hello Mr/Ms Senthamizhan,
I have a question for you...
tomorrow a new rule comes, as suggested by Sankaracharya: Hinduism would be preached only in Arabic(or chinese), archanai would be performed only in Arabic (or chinese), and all japams and keertanai's would be perfomed only in Arabic(or chinese)...
In this case would you learn Arabic (or chinese)for the sake of your religion???
The question here is which of the two is of prime importance to you? Language or relegion?
For me Language is importance, eventhough I'am a Hindu, I like tamil songs on Allah sung by Nagur Hanifa, as I like Tamil.. I feel Jesus or Alla are also tamil gods as I find songs, books of them in Tamil...
For me Tamil comes first then comes relegion. Basic purpose of relegion is to induce good things into a persion, basically to make him a good Human being. For this you need not belong to any relegion, read and follow Kural and you shall be a good Human being...

Well said Thiru. Chandrashekar.
Mr. Senthamizhan, when I said 'mocking' I did really mean mocking. You are speaking nonsense like Language was created by Religion and that Thamizh was created by religion and etc. That's some sick comment. During Sanga Thamizh Literature Thamizhars had three big kingdoms and previous to that two civilizations, one in Sindhu Valley and the other in submerged Kumarikandam or aka 'Lemuria' on English. There is no mother and language. There is however 'mother tongue'. I hope I made it clear as in the language is the mother and it is the language that you speak.
Religion is like some clothes your in, you can always change it and etc. Nevertheless you should know that the Arabic language and the Arabian culture is behind the religion Islam as similarly Latin and Greek along with European Tradition backup Christianity. The term hinduism is a nonsense as you'd know it's a common term used on all religions that formed in the so called Indian Union and the one that came from Afghanistan. It doesn't matter what religion you follow, as long as you speak Thamizh and pray w/e your god on Thamizh, then you are Thamizhan.
However, having a different language for ur religion and claiming yourself to be Thamizhan is a pure nonsense. Thamizh Religion and Thamizh language binded together during the pallavar times where the Nayanmaars and Aalvars gained more support from Thamizhans since they were Thamizhars and they used senthamizh and claimed to be the followers and supporters of Thamizh. Whereas the foreign religions, although had their roots interpreted in Thamizh, their main care was 'religion' and the order of subduing Thamizhans into converting the Thamizhars religion.
For more information, refer to the quote that Sambanthar said, "Senthamizhpayan ariya anthaka manthikal"-Sambanthar followed a religion 'sivaniyam' which is from Thamizh root.
He used religion as a tool to inform Thamizhans through his 'thevarams' to say Thamizh God Sivan is better than others and so telling Thamizhans to follow their religion and telling them it contains better philosophy than others, Thamizh King Ravanan is better than the Raman Character and to pray in Senthamizh!
Your religious based comment is a pure nonsense filled with some religious extreme and you argue religion is important although you understand that it's just a mere tool to lead you on a right path. Infact religion is a philosophy and philosophy is a religion. So when you say Islam, you mean Islamic Philosophy. Similarly Christianity, you mean Christian philosophy. When you say Sivaniyam, you mean Sivaniya 'neri' (philosophy) similarly 'Maliyam'; Maliya 'neri'(philosophy) (read the thirumurai).
