hello everyone
Much has been said and written over the last couple of weeks on the Cauvery issue and the goings on in the Tamil Film Industry.
I am totally disgusted with the way the whole thing has started acquiring a political ring. It is so disgusting I dont even want to discuss on this topic anymore.
Couple of things that have been in the limelight -
1. Tamil Language has survived for thousands of years without the support of the tamil film industry and it will continue to exist and grow for a many thousand years more.
2. People of Tamil Nadu have a good cultural upbringing with a strong work ethic and adequate intelligence to make a good living in this world. No drought, No floods, No earthquake can destroy the Tamil community. So we do not need the support from the tamil film fraternity for our daily lives.

This is a request for all the Tamil Movie Stars -
'Please stick to making movies only' and not ruin our lives by sticking your neck out in things that does not concern your livelihood.
Leave us all in Peace, We do not want your money, moonu chakra vandi, or the sham marriages conducted by you. The Tamil Community has lived through the ages and is a thriving community and will continue to thrive.
STAY OUT OF OUR LIVES!

  What hero? What are you talking about? Dont put all your money on Mental, for he will do a flip again tomorrow. He is known for his flip flops.
  It is clear that you do not understand the current political situation in TN. All the parties are looking for a stick to beat JJ. They are throwing their support behind Mental only to satisfy their agenda that is to make life difficult for JJ. Now Mental has played into their hands quite nicely. Karunanidhi is at it again with his wily machinations and he is clearly behind this latest stunt from Rajini. So dont get too excited about the supporting statements from these political parties, who by the way are all non-entities in TN.

  Social concern for any body should be welcomed. It is very arbitrary to say film stars should never do anything at all for Tamil people. You can say that they should not become manipulative using it. But being socailly conscious and useful is the duty of every citizen, irrespective of their job. Why this discrimination against cine personalities. If something good can happen out of their actions, it needs to be welcomed. No need to summarily reject them.

  I opened this thread because I am utterly disgusted by the way politics has creeped into the Tamil Film Unit. I do not want to discuss on the baltis by the tamil film stars. My head starts spinning when I read the statements from these actors from day 1 of this Cauvery episode. The one thing that has gone missing as the days progress is the need to show a single face to karnataka. So I see no point in discussing who said what today, this morning, this minute for it is changing all the time.

  You never blamed JJ for being behind the agitation plan by Bharathiraja. You were going on and on about the failure of Rajni to condemn Karnataka actors. The same goes to you for not condemning JJ/Bhararthiraja

  I do not think that JJ was behind the agitation, but she came in on the picture much later. Moreover she did not try to split the actors unity, but karunanidhi has apparently achieved that.
  As far as b.raja goes, he is not worth commenting on. But I support him if he holds a peaceful agitation in Neyveli. Thats my stand.

  But you don't support Rajni even if he announces a peaceful fast. Why this double standard? When you are quick to find hidden motives behind one party, you are very eager to defend the other party, or you just escape by giving vague statements like "I'll support if it is peaceful" etc. Why this double standard? Be impartial in criticising both sides, if both are doing useless things.
  
  I can say Jayalalitha gave particular directions such that it wiull inevitable for karunanidhi to break away. So indirectly, she was the reason for the dis-unity in the actors ranks. That is only an argument but that has chances for being true also.
  
  And the arguement that others will defend somebody more and so you are condemning somebody more is not an excuse. If that is so, then leave the criticising right also to "others". You don't indulge in it.

  It is turning out to be a freak show by all the artists and not a protest.
  
  Yesterday in the Neyveli Rally one actor started praising ADMK then the other started praising DMK.
  
  Today it was even worse with the fast being politicised by all political parties commenting on the issue and condeming yesterdays protest.
  
  Condemn all the artists especially Sharath Kumar, Napoleon, T. Rajendar (Grizzly Bear), Radhika, Vijaykanth, Bharatiraja etc.

  I think by this time ppl around the world(incl in forumhub) might have realized the ugly acts of the Cinema Stars right from Showing the political strength(eg VijayKanth, RajiniKanth), Ego (Bharathiraja, V.Kanth, R.Kath), Politicized Speeches (SSChandran, Sarath, Naepolean, Radhika,TR ) up to the Sex Desire (Kamal & Simran).. Anything about Cauvery.

  Even on a common problem affecting the state, our cursed kazhaga parties will not unite. They will try to turn the problem to their advantage.
