Hi guys, lets talk about the greatness of illayaraja's tunes and how the people of tamil nadu don't seem to remember any of his masterpieces when they listen to the zombie tunes of ARR!.
And let us tell these north indian people to stop prasing ARR cause they can't understand music and they can't appreciate Illayaraja.

Hi,
I feel to laugh at myself in being one to be in the discussion among group of persons who have very little knowledge of any kind of music. I am aged 27 and I used to hear IR from the age of 6. There was not a period in my life to feel ill against his music. You might think that I am a fan of IR and am only listening to his music.
The fact is that I use to hear every kind of music whether it is Indian South Indian or North Indian) or western(Pop, Disco, Rap, Regge, Hard Rock, Re-Mix, Heavy Metal, Techno, Classical). I am hearing music of Richard Marx to Michael Jackson, Kenny Rogers to M.C. Hammer, Will smith to Shaggy, Enigma to Fatboy Slim. I agree that ARR has given good music also. But it is to be noted that any music should have Raga and Tala and should have the range to surpass time.
I am not underestimating any person on the basis of age. Raja Ravi Verma did not become legendry figure overnight simply by drawing some figures on the walls of his palace. It was hard labour for long time he became famous likewise all the great artists became famous by putting their lives in their art. I am only of opinion that it is not fair to compare a great artist with a neophyte who have just got some popularity.
If you are a listener of western music, there is one world famous artist named Macy Gray who is a Grammy Award Winner. But to me, as an outspoken person, I feel she is destroying the music and is horrible to hear. Even if the whole world acclaims that King is wearing invisible cloth I will that the KIng is naked.
If the present generation is bent on destroying the Indian music especially Tamil then I cannot help. As I am a lover of music is not going to lose anything but shall continue to hear good music from whatever source it comes.
If every rotten piece of music is considered as divine may God save the Indian Music Industry especially Tamil.
With Love,

Your range of music is from Richard Marx to MJ, Shaggy to MC Hammer- you know what this kind of music is called ? Elevator music. There is no depth in this music and is fit for elevator listening only!!
Listen to Carnatic, classical and Jazz-this is real music
And yes continue layghing at yourself while I sign out of this group feeling sorry for you and talk to people that know good music.

Hi,
Now I understand that you have no knowledge of music and continue to speak without sense about the subject. Listener is listener only. There is no difference in 'this type' of listener and 'that type' of listener. I am listener who hears various type of music. I am not staying in foreign countries like USA or UK. I used to hear Carnatic, Classical and Jazz also. I said that before. Real and unreal music? I am unable to understand that. Only real miusic exits. Music is a collection of sounds well arranged in Raga and Tala. Other than that is mere sound and noise. The music which touches heart and good to hear, melodious, and which surpasses time is music. That's all. I have nothing more to say.
