SweetNothing;
good post, but don't bother, it will never sink into to sweetlad's head! :))
Kdot;
I know what u mean, it is very annoying the way, the colour is mentioned in films, songs like "un niram pola en niram maara varma ondru tharuvai baba", this is really silly, their is a saying in English "Tall DARK & handsome", but it is the Indian who discriminate against the colour, no matter, wether we are fair, brown or black to an englishmen, we all look black!

Strictly to sweetlad;
I am sorry about the posting I am going to do, but someone has 2 do it.
Sweetlad, u criticize about Rajni’s looks in each & every Rajni thread, very irritating, let me ask about your mallu actors, how about
1) Suresh Gopi-weighs 15 stones, triple tyres around his belly & triple chin?
2) Mohan Lal-weighs around 15 stones, again same description as Suresh Gopi, don't the mallu’s make him a super*? in fact apart from Mamooty, every mallu actors not good looking at all, but u still have the guts to criticize about Rajni, yes, I admit Rajni kanth is not all that good looking, like Kamal, but Rajni is certainly not ugly, he is of smart & average appearance.
So pls stop this nonsense!

Raghu,
You are making this mistake the second time. What makes u think I am a mallu ?
I do agree with you that Suresh Gopi and Mohanlal are over weight. rajini is thin. mallu actors have good hair on their head, but rajini is already bald just 52.
Somebody said that he has shaved off his head, yes I know that. But even otherwise, he has lost hair more than a usual 52 man! That is the truth.
Everybody has defects, I know that.
Sweet Nothing,
I have been watching rajini movies for the last 25 years!! you are talking to me about he using wigs for the last 10 years! and Yes , he did have lot of stylish hair,
watch him in 'Thambikku Enth OOru', Anbukku Naan Adimai, Jhonny etc. He had stylish straight hair! But suddenly he lost it and it started showing from teh film Velaikkaran, as far as I know.
So anyways, Raghu, Sweet Nothing, Prabhakar, and other rajini fans,
I have also been a crazy fan of rajini in my childhood days, but that no more! Infact I am not a fan of any actor! I certainly dont want to be a part of the dumb worshipping crowd !
I do enjoy rajini these days too, I enjoy anything that is good! No bias, but I do have the habit of comparing and categorising!
So dont see me as a Kamal fan or a VJ Kanth fan or anythign when I post about rajini!
And yes, rajini has a lot of Saantham and calmness in his face which is tough to get!
He certainly could have maintained his physique and hair much better then what he has today !
'Nobody can have everything', and probably rajini is lacking in maintaining these things! Just coz he is slim at this age dosent mean he is maintaining his physique, he is more then slim, he is weak! He shivered all thru that Sun TV interview and he keeps smoking a lot even at this age, after all these involment into Aanmeegham!
If he wants to make it big in Aanmeegham, he has to be able to sacrifice his habitual temptations and control them! Just posing calm and controlled wont do! You have have that ability in reality and in you action!
rajini should give up on drinks and smoke for his own good health as well as if he wants to convince people on his Aanmeegham and BABA and stuff like that!!

SweetLad
//'Nobody can have everything', and probably rajini is lacking in maintaining these things! //
I guess you are contradicting youself from the above statement.
Howerver, firstly how baldness is linked to the health secondly how one could prevent it? Is it his mistake? We are seeing Kartik is bald since his 30s.
Rajini appear to be weak, agree. However, ever since he announced his baba project he went thru so much problems and turbulence one after other for about 6 months. I am not sure how a normal person could take it but He didn't collapse and managed all well by his both physical and mental health. From that prespective I feel he is still healthy.
In my opinion Aanmeegam is not fixed thing with any prescribed rules, there are many ways to practise it depending on ones own maturity. It differs from person to person, hence your suggestion.

Milton, I wish you could read the original by Chullikkadu, in Malayalam. It's beautifully written and comes in as a piece in his collection titled "Chidambara Smarana". The portion where Sivaji applauds the shy writer's rendition of Ravana's lines is especially heart-warming. What I found most amusing was where he writes that when Sivaji stood up to perform the now-legendary Kattabomman scene, he amazingly transformed himself from the short old man he was at that time, to a fiery, bombastic warrior. It's one of the best pieces in "Chidambara Smarana". Chullikkadu, for the uninitiated, started off as a rebellious firebrand poet, even with links to the Naxalite movement in Kerala. He later found his place among the most revered young writers in the state. Recently, he converted to Buddhism. Hubbers, sorry for the digression, by the way.
