  Can you tell me and the audience here on many theaters Anbe Sivam was released and how much money collected exactly? Then tell no.point arguing with me.
  
  Go to public and ask which is the hit Movie 'Azhagi' or Anbe Sivam? If all confirm Anbe sivam then tell no.point arguing with me.
  
  When I look back the archives of other Anbe sivam related threads you are the person crying for failing makkal rasani. If you say more people seen 'Anbe sivam' than 'Azaghi' then where is your logic of failing 'Makkal rasani'.
  
  I was discussing and comparing the quality of the movies but you jumped into the collection and justifying with production cost. Then based on Produciton cost and collection which is the hit movie for AVM, Samsaram Adthu Minsaram or Sakalakala Vallavan?
  
  Since this movie is classifed as 'Good Cinema' but can't even sell well in Madras which has approx 7million people and the city of excellence in Art, Music & Dance of South India then accept it's failure rather than pass the bug to others. The failure was even mentioned on Kamals' own 'Sandiar' stage by the prominent people why you try to defend a obvious thing.

  Agree with you that only Kamal can think of doing such roles and he did it excellently, no one dare to match. But my point is that only half of the movie is not good enough to ask more credits and cursing others for not giving overwhelming support.

  One more chance to you to understand..Azhagi is succes movie because it recovers more than it's sold cost..Eventhough 'Baba''s collection was atleast 10 times bigger than azhagi ,it is considered as flop..do you know why?The same thing applies to 'Anbe sivam' in it's level and range of business.

  Anbesivam is superhit, hit means profit, not 'only collecting the investment'.Not in chennai but in U.S. Read Indiatoday (4 weeks before)It says the following,
  
  "Anbesivam is a flop, even its said best film around, only overseas right is a record profit"
  
  Its overseas rights is sold for 3.5 crores, any one should understand profit means above 3.5 crores.

  For a film to get oscar, it should run housefull in U.S.Theatres for 2 weeks.This is a Rule.Anbesivam not sent to oscar but still it passes THIS RULE.

  But at the same time I understand that failiure of this film in chennai is correct.Because most of the dialogues are understandable only to GROUP 1 Category.For a sample i will tell one dialogue
  
  During the scene where kamal explains his Gaigantic SIVAM painting, one asks,
  
  "Why did you choose Shperes?"
  Kamal says, " Sari, Paramasivanum Venum, BallBearingum Venumna Doliwood Vazi thaney"
  
  Do you understand any thing?
  
  Eventhough people can understand this film well better than Heyraam and Aalavanthaan, They really didnt find anything intresting in a film where 2 person talk, and talk, and talk about communism, Yaar Kadavul, ect.They want some things with some masala, fight, vivek comedy, some decent and nice songs ect(even they lack logic)What I say is that kamal tried to bridge between Commercial and classic, but the commercial has become in less amount, compared to classic, even Vikatan mentioned this.

  Both Azagi and Anbe sivam are classic film only.Differencec come in the amount of COMMERCIAL elements you see in this film.
  Vikatan mentioned it correcly.I will give some snippets from vikatan vimarsanam of both.
