FILM MAKING IS AN ART. KAMAL HAD THE GUTS TO MAKE MOVIES LIKE HEY!RAM, MARUDHANAYAGAM, MAHANATHI, GUNA, EVEN AALAVANATHAAN. HE HAS SACRIFICED ALOT OF POPULARITY TO BRING INDIAN CINEMA-PARTICULARLY TAMIL CINEMA-TO WORL STANDARDS. WE WILL NEVER REACH WORLD STANDARDS IF PRODUCERS KEEP FINANCING SH** LIKE VIJAY'S, VIJAYAKANTH, AJITH'S RED.............AND THE LIST IS JUST TOO DAMN LONG FOR ME TO CONTINUE.   To get the motive of Kamals movies, you should have some qualifications such general knowladge, common sence, human sence etc..
  Then only you can entertaint by his movies. A lot of poeples said that HeyRam is a confusion movie. For me, not at all. To watch and get to target of that movie, you should have some knowledge about Ghandi. Also Alavanthan. Its a film like '12 Monkeys' by Bruce Willies where both films describe a physico's feelings anf their thoughts of others.

  As talented as he might be, Kamal is an inflexible film maker. He only gives what he wants and not what the audience wants. This is the exact reason why his own productions never make it. Kamal fails to put himself in the shoes of the audience.
  
  Personally, I felt that Hey Ram was a good film. Upon watching the film, I tried to analyse why such a good movie flopped even in foreign countries. It was then I realised the language barrier in the film.
  
  The characters of the film conversed in 3 different languages, Tamil, Hindi and English. Anyone who does not know either one or two of the languages would lose out somewhere in the film. Thus, no one will have the patience to sit through the film.
  
  However, when I watched the film, I had subtitles, so understanding the entire film was a breeze.

  Hai! I'm Malaysian. An actor is an actor. He must do his best in his field and as for Mr.Kamal he did his best and still trying to do his best. As for his personal life he may not be a good husband or even father but that's all his personnel life matter. Everyone have drawback.
