Shakthi, Roshan
nice to see guys appreciate some "REAL" tamil movie stuff among some rubbish threads for cheap fellows like Simbhu etc.
I dont think the olden days comedy can be beaten
Iam a fan of Vivek. But I think every other comedian in B&W era was better than him.
But still I will watch vivek becos I am his fan!
My favorite comedians are Nagesh and Janakaraj!
janakaraj in Agni Nakshatram was soooo goood.
No Thangamani Ensoy!!!
Haha who can beat comedy like that. Full of body language and mannerisms!
Now only cheap double meaning comedy lie "Figure podu" "rotea mathu" cheap stuff like that treating women as mere sexual caricatures!

muhamed bin tuglak is not a comedy. Its a parody -a real masterpiece parody. It was one of the most serious movies I have ever seen. aIts a parody. Probably the message of the movie did not sink in the midst of the public, coz they took it as a comedy.

kool roshan...
ITs a man's world eh!!!
V,
i like vivek's comedy too!
stg,
I am so happy, to see someone sharing my views on mohammand bin tuklak..........I guess i was a toddler not letting my uncle watch the movie, so he when was old enough, made me buy the cd and watch it with him......
It was like reading a novel.
Messeges greatly delivered (no comedy at all!!!)
the climax was soooooooooo beautiful! ..........so diplomatic, so like an english novel..... that ppl fail to see the sarcasm, sugar coated bitter truth, and the villainism behind it

Yah ,it's true Roshan. But somehow i feel the comedy track of 'Agni natchathiram' as indecent esp that Disco shanthi scene.
And hey we missed one well-known and underrated person in these discussions, its V.K.Ramaswamy,ha his peculiar voice and appearance itself will bring laughter ,at the same time the man is good in character roles also.

Vivek does a better job,but at times he resorts to some cheap comedy,(Shahjahan,Kadhal sadugudu),Anyway he is better than all those Karunas,vadivelu...

one of the funniest and most beautifully filmed comedy scenes is the one featuring janakarak - i dont remember the name of the movie - the scene is like this. he sends off his wife in a bus with lot of 'piriyA vidai', emotions, fake tears in his eyes, etc., The bus starts and janakarak immediately stops pretending to be sad and starts jumping and dancing saying 'en poNdAtti Urukku pOyittA' 'en poNdAtti Urukku pOyittA' . the camera follows him in a circle, only to end in janakaraj meeting his wife, face to face. She is fuming with anger. The bus didnt leave the bus stand after all due to some problem! The scene in this movie is just fantastic and most admirably conceived and photographed.- can anyone tell us the name of the movie?

Raghu,
Mugamathu bin Tuglaq is a movie by Cho ramasamy.Cho himself acted in leading role.It indirectly critise Indira Ghandi's emergency which threatened India's democracy once..Cho narrated a comedy story in his own unique way of 'Kindal'.The funny think is..some of the funny things he narrated happened in reality later in indian politics..It is a thourougly enjoyable movie,if you are aware f indian politics. The movie written and directed by CHO.
