  The movie is ok.Nothing special about Ajith's acting.The camera and fights were good.The film looked like a Rajinikanth's movie.The climax part was boring.

  I have seen the film, it is load of crap, Ajith thinks if he has short hair & scruffy face, he looks like a bad boy (gangster), he thinks he is RAJNIKANTH, well HE IS NOT RAJNIKANTH, get this message into his head, Ajith has a baby face, this rowdy business don't suit him, Does Ajith think he is MANIC BASHA???, well he better not, coz there can onle by one Manic basha that is Super* Rajni.
  
  Have you guys seen his acting, in Red, Pathetic or what, he can not act Rough & Tough as Rajni, he looks like a Cartoon, when he does that, his voice sounds like child, yet he wants 2 act as a rude boy, what a jerk!

  Here is the latest news on pongal releases:
  RED did great business on the first 2 days but has collapsed completely forcing distributors to think about films story and content before buying them. They say pongal has been grimmer/dull than diwali in terms of collections (so much for blasting kamal's alavandhaan).
  AJITH tried to imitate and fell flat(Rajini became a superstar based on his strengths not by imitating..). The moment AJITH was trying to be projected, the film crashed.
  AZHAGI is a good film but no crowds
  Alli Arjuna - Flopped
  Ver. Alu - Flopped
  
  Punnagai Desam(low budget film) and PKS doing decent business.

  rajini is pucca waste now.he doesnt have mentality to accept flop,bcos he knows his next movie will be an evergreen flop.he cant digest others popularity.he should be sent out of the pavilion.last time he broke his nose by giving good role to an unnoticed actress ramyakrishanan in padayappa and was called as sorriyappa.

  Vijay is a Monkey faced fool, who can not act as well, Prashanth is a girl, Madhvan is ok, but out of the younger SURYA & VIKRAM are the best!!!!!, just because they do not act in glamour Movie, they are not regarded as BIG heros, what a pity.

  Comments I live in Columbus, OH, USA where only ONE Tamil movie is screened each month. Naturally, I expect a good movie to be screened here, but with the screening of RED, I've lost such hopes!!! RED is the WORST movie Ajith has ever acted in - it's even more painful to watch than Citizen! Did the director think that the people of Tamilnadu have an IQ of 21 or so? Well, his IQ seems to be less than that! What a stupid movie - same old stuff that's been told 100 million times in Nayagan, Thalapathi, Baasha, Pudhiya Paadhai... sure, they were all good to watch. But, directors of TN, 'aracha maava thiruppi thiruppi araikaadheenga'!!! Please, I beg you! The music is jarring(Deva has even copied the signature tune of Mission Impossible), the movie is painful to the eyes because of the constant violence, irritating fight sequences, horrible, amateurish dialogues and the annoying way in which Ajith says 'Adhu' every 10 seconds! The story can be said in one line - Ajith is an orphan who becomes a mafia-like dada with ugly sidekicks kissing his behind, who falls in love at first sight, tries to become soft because the chick said so, finds it tough and becomes a dada again. Oh, one more thing - the movie makes you realize that the people of Madurai DO NOT READ ANANDA VIKATAN! Don't ask me why, but that's what the movie seems to suggest! And it's supposed to be a novel part of the movie... God, please give at least the intelligence you gave to a chimpanzee to Tamil directors. I beg you!!!

  Comments RED stands for Rotton Everyday Dung! The movie has a few flaws - The director forgot to get a story first before making the movie. Then he forgot about writing a screenplay. Then he forgot that people above age 4 too watch the movie. Then he forgot to listen to the background music and songs that copycat Deva 'composed'(or should I say 'borrowed' from Mission Impossible)? Then he forgot that movies like Nayagan, Baasha etc have been seen by millions of people. Oh yes, besides all that, the movie has everything - excellent garish sets, awesome background music that gives you an instant headache, ethereal sets made by T. Rajendar when he was 8 years old, stylish costumes designed by Ramarajan and Goundamani, impressive dialogues written by a 6 year old.... Definitely watch the movie - if you have lost all hope in life and need an excuse to kill yourself!

  Comments Wow! This movie was one of its kind! I've never felt the need to go to a doctor for getting a headache treated until I saw this movie! It is so good in making you get a powerful headache! Kudos to the director and Ajith in achieving that! I always thought that Ajith was a good actor, but am tempted to change that opinion after seeing this sorry excuse for a movie! The director seems to think that Tamil audiences will swallow whatever is offered to them - be it something that has been shown a hundred times before! Synopsis: --------- Ajith is an orphan in Madurai who has grown up under some chariot in a slum. He somehow has a big house now, does rowdyism, murders and gaana dances for a living. He is supposedly some sort of Robinhood. He has a few sidekicks who always praise him, cry with annoying melodrama at the drop of a hat, praise him some more, get beaten up, praise him some more, suffer for food, praise Ajith some more... u get the idea. He's called RED 'cos he symbolizes 'reliability, education and dependability' or maybe 'rowdyism, exasperation and dreariness' or whatever - I don't give a rat's ass! He weares red clothes in a few scenes to prove his point or whatever! His dialogue delivery is excruciating to watch and the way he says 'Adhu' every time he ends a sentence makes you want to run screaming into the toilet to vomit! Oh, there's a chick called Priya Gill who claims she's Manivannan's daughter! (Are we sure that Manivann's neighbour didn't pay a vist to Mrs Manivannan when he was out of town? I mean, the girl looks too pretty to be his daughter!). She thinks Red is a rowdy... ummm... I thought so too! But the director wants us to not think so! Well, he kills and beats up people - wonder what u call someone like that? A saint, maybe? Anyway, she falls for him, dumps him, forgets to read Ananda Vikatan magazine(don't even ask me what that's all about - it's a stupid sequence of events added to drag the movie for 2.5 hours), is about to marry some other dude, but in an extremely surprising ending with a wonderful twist never before seen in Tamil movies, the hero ends up actually getting the girl! (You know I'm kidding, right?). Cast: ==== Ajith - growls, spits, says 'Adho' seventy five times per hour, cries every five seconds, wipes spit off chariots, drinks, sings gaana songs, beats up people, kills people, helps orphans, priests, churches, mosques, temples, synagogues, gurudwaras... cries more... beats up more people... cries some more... Priya Gill - looks pretty, cries, asks Ajith to shed rowdyism, cries a little more, asks Ajith again and again, cries a lot, goes to the US(or Besant Nagar in this case), talks in English to the uneducated hero, cries more, sings duets... Charlie, Manivannan and a Malayalam dude - Cry, cry more, hug Ajith, cry more, beat up people, make sundal, beat up more people, kill a few people, nod their heads to everything Ajith says, cry again, hug Ajith again, claim that he's the best person in this planet, ask him to beat up people, cry more, hug Ajith again, cry a little more, wail, whimper, argue, hug Ajith, kiss his behind... did I mention that they cry a lot and hug Ajith often? ;-) Villians - Some dude who shouts in a hoarse voice now and then, kills Nizhalgal Ravi for no apparent reason. Nizhalgal Ravi is a 'edupudi' for Rajesh and gets killed by the villian. Rajesh is a cop who arrest Ajith and then gives him a RED ponnadai. There are also henchmen who wear Tupac Shakur T-shirts... Ananda Vikatan - a popular magazine which is read by everyone except the good people of Madurai city. Also sponsors a train full of people wearing yellow T-shirts and caps. These people travel in the train for days but carry no luggage - not even a toothbrush or a change of clothes(yellow T-shirt). Oh, the editor of Vikatan is Raghuvaran who scolds his journalists all the time for no reason of theirs. He is supposed to be Ananda Holmes or Sherlock Vikatan or whatever, but manages to be Annoying Vayitherichal instead. Should you see the movie? Don't even if the very existence of this planet depends on you seeing it!
