Movies for Deepavali 2000.

List extracted from Kumudham deepavali issue.

1. Snehidhiyae

Priyadharshans, trilingual. All women cast headed by Tabu, Jyothika and Rani Mukerjee's sister Shabrani. Story revolves around a ladies hostel.

Kannukku Kannaaga

Brother sister sentiment movie starring Murali. Directed by new comer Dhayalan. Deva's music is already said to have clicked. No glamour dances, fights etc. If story clicks, the movie is expected to do well.

Piriyaadha Varam Vendum

After a lot of call sheet problems from Shalini, finally the movie sees the light thanks to liberal usage of scenes from the malayalam original "Niram". The director Kamal has made 20 hits of his 23 movies in malayalam. But this is his first one in tamil.

Vanna Thamiz Paattu

Stroy is about a village head man who hates love. His son gets embroiled in love and how they deal with this is the story. Father and son both done by Prabu. Prabu - vadivelu comedy track takes off. P. Vasu directs. S.A. Rajkumar tunes.

Vaanavil

Story is about 3 friends who turn, a criminal, a police officer and a person who fights for love and justice. Maoj Kumar directs. Italy stars in locations for songs. Arjun, Prakash Raj and new comer Abirami take the lead.

Paalayathu amman

Ther was a news article about the baby which fell into the thirupathi temple Vundial. This movie takes off on that. The temple admin says the baby belongs to the temple and the couple refuse. How amman retrieves the baby from the couple (SIC!) is the story. Expect computer graphics. How can u separate amman and computer graphics? Ramki and Dhivya Unni star as the couple while Meena is the Amman.

Seenu

Malayalam original "Bharatham" takes shape as Seenu. Karthick stars in this. Malavika is his pair. The producers are hopeful about Viveks comical take off of ARR.

Piriyamaanavalae

Vijay is dependant on this movie now. A big budget Remake of "Pavithra bandham " in Telugu. Vijay plays an NRI and Simran pairs up. Radhika Chwdry adds Glamour. Selva Bharathi of ninaithen vandhai fame directs.

Thenaali

Kamals movie. K.S. Ravikumar produces and directs. What happens when a doctor becomes a patient and patient becomes a doctor? This is the theme. Jyothika , Meena and Devayaani star.Expect to see Jayaraman here and there. ARR has introduced a lot of new people too.

  This sathyaraj starrer has been in the back burners for long. A Velu Prabakaran movie also starring, kushboo, Roja, Radhika and Arun Pandiyan, this movie is awaiting final clearance. Expect some controversies.
