My favourie actress is ever green beauty Sarojadevi. Her performance in most of the films are best. Who can forget Shanthy in Palum pazhamum.

  To the Thaathaa who compared Simran with Saroja devi... Agreed that Simran is a good actrees and is stunningly beautiful. But Saroja Devi...she is something else. To compare Simran with Saroja Devi is to compare a hill with Mount Everest. No offence meant to Simran...I like her too (especialy in Vaali). But this is the plain truth. I may dare say one more thing....none of the actresses these days can compare to actresses of yesteryears, like Savithri, Sarojadevi, Banumathi, Sowkar Janaki, Padmini, Devika. The closest semblence we saw were Jayalalitha, Sujatha, Radhika, Revathi and Lakshmi. I am not an oldie to have this opinion. I am relatively young and went gaa gaa over new movies and new actresses/actors. But just watching the old movies on tape and CDs, I am of the opinion that what we get these days on cinema is largely trash, and it would do the new actresses a lot good if they stop showing off their bodies and thrusting their hips back and forth. Start acting. Watch the old movies. Learn from the elder actresses. Sorry, but I am a young man with a "fetish" for the old golden Tamil Movies and the older actresses.
