LLD,
Thalivar goes to one function and all I can see the media hogging his presence. There was a write up about that function even in Hindu which is supposed to be a very dignified paper unlike Thanthi, and other tamil papers. ALready Joovi have come out with a cover story for the next week
Tomorrow Sun TV is telecasting that program and I bet that they will make a killing in advt revenue
When Thalivar sees all the hype and frenzy he is creating in the media- he not being an intellectual like you might think of entering politics. What is wrong???? If I were in his shoes, I will think that way as well
So the reason Rajini even speaks about politics is because of the media.Whatever he speaks is hyped and misquoted and blown out of proportion(See yesterdays article in Dinakaran where it suggests that Rajini is challenging the CM indirectly by saying no designation is permanent). Did he actually say that? NO Ask all the intellectual reporters having PHD in journalism to stop writing about Rajini. Then your dream will be fulfilled where Koothadis will not speak politics and aspire to become CMS
So do not blame Rajini unnecsaarily. He doesnot wish to enter politics because he knows his limitations very well. He knows that he is not cut out for politics. It is the media which keep pushing him because EVERYBODY MAKES MONEY IN TN WHEN THEY SAY RAJINI. Please check with SUN TV about the revenue they will generate toomorrow
Anyway having said that, and looking at the precedence in TN, India and the world (MGR, MUka, JJ, Arnie, Estrada, Regan, NTR, RajBabbar, Vinod Khanna, Shatrugh etc etc), there is nothing wrong if Rajini decides to enter politics
According to me he is great man with a very clear understanding of himself. As thalivar rightly said yesterday" I AM MY OWN FRIEND AND MY OWN ENEMY". He might have some vices but who doesnot.
TN will be ever grateful to him if he could exonerate the state from Dravidian rule and place an intellectual like PC Chidambram in CM post

Prabakar,
Thank you for your appreciation.
Next, regarding the Rajini films in Singapore, i came to Singapore in 1982. I watched few Rajini films in early 80's such as Thee, Pokiri Raja, Billa, etc but i couldn't tell exactly what was the response in the theaters as i was quite young. During that time, the tamil films had good response and it will be released throughout singapore and mixed with English, Malay and Chinese films.
In the Early 80's, i saw "Thee" in Cerous Theater in which is at the Telok Blangag Road. I can recall one good scene appreciated in the theater. The Villains will be searching for Rajini in the Shipyard and Rajini voluntarily appear infront of the Villains at the warehouse. There was heavy whistles and claps for this scenes.
But only State theater (serangoon Road - opposite New Park Hotel) survived until mid 1986. I can recall few Rajini movies in this theater and they were Padikathan, Mr. Bharath and Viduthalai. All this movies had good crowd and Rajini's appearance was well appreciated. Mostly it ran 3 weeks and it was considered very good.
There was no Tamil theaters until 1988. New Crown and Prince theaters screened Rajini's English picture "Blood Stone" and they didn't expect that it have good response for this film. The theaters found out more about Rajini and Tamil films and they started to screen Tamil pictures at New Crown with Kamal film "Aboorva Sagothragal" and it gave some hopes for Tamil pictures. Followed by that Siva and Raja Chinna Roja screened in this theaters.
For Mappillai and Athisaya Piravi, Kavitha videos bought this picture and screened this movie in Delit Theatres (Bukit Merah) on Saturday and Sunday. Imagine how will be the crowd?? The fans response was really fantastic and every scenes were full of claps and whistle. I will never forget especially for Mappillai. There were many people watching this film by standing and seating on the floor as the shows were limited for 2 days only.
I will dicuss later about 90's pictures

Hello Rajani fans,
Are u satisfied now ? u chased out Milton from the hub.
I can remember , one of u guys said that u can not reuest another member ( whoever rajani fan or kamal fan ) not to do abusing as one does not have that right.
Then how can u find mistake at Milton that he should have requested LLD not to find mistake at Rajani.
I can remember ther was smooth discussion praising Rajani for his speech ( about Saami's 100th day ) there one you dragged Kamal unneceesarily into discussion. Don't you c that he did the wrong work ? Then why don't ask fellow fans not to do this ?
I can remember LLD wrote about Kamal's work ( some sceens are extreme )
u have to realise that one fan has to be a postion where he can point out both sides
Bye now !

This kamal rajini fighting has been happening in this forum for a while now. Fault is with both fans. I think we should resepect other feelings then only there is a hope for balanced opinion.

Vishva,
Why do you worry for Kamal unnecessarily. The ones who have to worry is only Kamal and his current lover(s). Why do you?

Hey first of all I am not an indian. I am a Srilankan and am living in Australia. And I am not a fan of Rajini even. I would like to ask LLD a question.
U r saying that koothadi's like rajini... should not become the CM of TN, but some intelligent peoplelike.....
Do u think the intelligent people u cited would be able to oppose Jaya.. or Karuna... Both these Jaya or Karu.. have been in politics for more than 15 or so years and they know all the ways to keep the new ruler in their..... And both Jaya and Karu r corrupted.... So as u told if ur intelligent person... becomes the CM he won't be able to change anything just has to be blackmailed by these worst ever politicians.
But on the otherhand if a person Like Rajini becomes the CM of TN he has enormous support among masses that I don't have to tell u, and so Jaya r Karu.. may not be able to oppose Rajini. That's TN's position. Who made people like Jaya to rule TN. So pathetic state. I reckon Rajini becomes CM as TN is 1000 times better than Jaya. Of course Rajini may not be much intelligent but in TN's case the needed thing is GUTS not intelligence. Because TN's poliitics is one of the worst in world. Jaya, i couldn't imagine how she became a CM and even Karu just trying to keep CM post to his family...
And if Rajini happens to become the CM of TN for sure he will do better things for TN, as bcos he has such reputation. He has to do, and he's not a wicked person like TN's pliticians.
For the sake of TN i reckon a cinema personality like Rajini should become the CM.
This is just the case of TN, this is not relevant to any other part in the world.

Rajini can come to politics. Who stops anyone from entering politics.
But I cannot take him heading Tamil Nadu.
Times have changed. Becoming a chief on mass popularity does
good only for the chief and not for the mass.
At this point we need a leader not a star.
With economic growth swithching to souther India, and Tamil Nadu
competing with its counter parts, we need someone who has a
vision and not a illusion. We need someone who takes the state
thru its difficult times not leave and go to Himalayas...
Being a leader involves something more than popularity. You have
to fight to be leader. You have to plan to be a leader. We don't want
someone who sits back and thinks the vote would come since
you did something in 5 years. You are in a era where you
have to advertise your acts.
Oh!! Rajini. Stop being a coward. Don't wait for a good time to
serve. Whatever you do is lost if not done when needed.
Stop giving only statements. Act. Otherwise stop the bandha!
I believe for you politics is an alternative to acting.

I think he handled the veerappan-rajkumar issue very immaturely.. in the sense, though i dont suspect his loyalty to tamil nadu and all that crap, he just seems to be over-enthu about karnataka-related affairs and keeps silence in tn-karnatka related issues. This is not surprising, considering his roots. His love of his motherland is natural. But this bias of his can be critical in interstate issues.
And if i remember right, when the kaveri issue broke out, it was kamalhassan who actively involved himself in supporting the cause of tamils and not the superstar.
Sure, he seems to be sincere and honest and humble, if we go by his public image and it is something to be appreciated... But I believe Rajnikanth alone will not be able to change TN and its ways. His partners in this should also be reliable and like him.. Not people like gkm, who change their sails by the winds. His supporting of these kind of direction-less people and oarties only damages rajnikanths integrity. Maybe he is too naive for the dark tn politics.
I dont intend to start flames around here but just my observation.
what do u guys think?
People close to rajaini know that he had put meena in a popular chennai hotel room for a week just to come every night and bang her.well all this is irrelavant since it is his personal life. but i have not doubt that he is not an able politician. he is a vazha vazha kozha kozha.....but if he does get enlightened, he may come to do something good or else he will be one amongst the other crooks.....
