  Mahesh (Dhanush - Kasthoori Raja’s son) and Pooja (Shereen) are classmates in a school. Mahesh is the son of a fisherman (Thalaivasal Vijay). His mind is disturbed when he happens to witness his parents’ private moments. Pooja’s father is a rich man (Pyramid Natarajan) who is very suspicious of his school going daughter. He is very strict with her and bans her from talking to boys on the phone.
  
  Mahesh and Pooja have other friends at school who too have problems some way or the other. Pooja’s close friend is a girl whose parents are in the Gulf. Loneliness and lack of parental care drives her to become a drug addict.
  
  Abhinay is another friend in the gang. His father has illegitimate relations with the servant-maid. Another boy Ramesh is beaten up by his father everyday.
  
  In this way, everyone in the gang is psychologically affected. They run away from home and go to Bangalore. During this period, Pooja and Mahesh fall in love with each other. They violate the limits and unite physically.
  
  Out in the open world, the youngsters encounter all sorts of trouble. They are caught by the Police on charges of prostitution. Somehow, they manage to escape. Then they run out of cash and the boys massage a woman for money. Here again, the Director's extremely cheap taste is displayed.
  
  Finally, the group decides to come back home. In the climax, the school Principal (Vijayakumar) talks to the group and their parents as to what went wrong in their lives. He gives and elaborate talk to the parents telling them how they had been responsible for their
