There was a time where in North M.rafi, KK,Lata & asha ruled, then in south TMS,PBS,SPB,KJY ruled, now the tamil cinema is degraded with nasal bathroom singers like Hariharan, Shanker, Unni Krishnan,Udit Narayan, Sukvindher Singh, Srinivas, what is happening to TFM???, is it going to be ruled by these nasalists???

  Only SPB has deep bass in muthalan kattai and ettan kattai. Everyone else sounds nasal and feminine.

  Guys enough is enough, I am Srilankan Tamil, I have learnt Carnatic Music in jaffna, we use the term kattai's in the school, if this not known by the indian tamils, then do not take the mick, Like I said I do not know what the indian tamils call kattais as, you guys are pathetic, every Arab Muslims stick for them selfs, all round world muslims fight togethher, but it is rather sad to see one tamilians (Like the you guys) take the p*ss out the other tamilians like me, srilankan tamil, which is rather sad, I wish I was a muslim, at least they do not take the p*ss out of their brothers!!!
  
  I am not going to take part in this forum again (unless you guys change), all of you guys are intimidating & insulting SPB, there are some decent guys who post here, pls do not degrade them as well.

  Misguided souls & guided soul;
  
  SPB is the greatest singer ever in India Today, but there are other greats like M.rafi, KJY, Ghantasala,BMK,Dr.S.Govinderajan,...etc. BMK, Ghantasala & SPB has similar voice, well that's my opinion, but none of these singers can not express emotions or modulate as amazingly as SPB, I mean SPB coming from a Non-Carnatic background, yet his Classical & ghazals are breath taking, I know for sure that SPB has won a national award for singing ghazals songs in film or some sort, under nort MD, can some one please tell me the name of Film & the MD???
  
  I know till date KJY posess 7 national awards, how many national awards does SPB posess, is it 7 or more???

  I think people are mistaking one thing. SPB can never equal Ghantasala or Bala Muralikrishna. SPB may have sung over 40000 but none of these can equal atleast one song sung by ghantasala. I am not Anti-SPB, but come on don't compare Ghantasala and SPB
