They are probably the most crazy about filmstars,
of all the people in South India. Why ??? There are so many other ways to get entertained, so many intelligent ways to get entertained ... Ask Keralites, they will tell you !

It is so stupid to see actors/actresses being worshipped ! Didn't some fans build a 'temple' for K.R.Vijaya and one for Khushboo. There must be many for MGR, Shivaji etc ... This is insane !

  the movies i mentioned were heyram,mahanadhi,mahanadhi etc... WHAT THE HELL HAS SIMRAN GOT TO DO WITH THESE MOVIES??

  but movies where kamal wrote script like anbe sivam,hey ram,mahanadhi,devar magan--if u look closer and dig a bit deeper into those movies--u could find a lot of meanings which are so subliminal.
  
  i feel all his screenplays are like reading literature(i have read hey ram screenplay).
  
  so,if i tell that jeyakanthan or sundara ramasamy as my idols, will u shout at me??
  
  same case with kamal. he is also a ilakiyavaadhi.i dont know u will agree with me or not.

  Being a Tamilian, I feel ashamed of Tamil People. All Tamilians are crazy behind tamil stars. That is the reason, why Tamil Nadu is always behind every improvement. That's why only film stars are becoming Chief Ministers and spoiling the state. Even tommorrow if Sandal Brigade Veerapan acts as a hero in tamil movie and after that if he stands in a election, these idiotic tamilians will vote him as chief minister.

  When some fans turn fiends - News Today
  
  A fan of actor Vijay was killed in a clash over putting up
  banners of the star's Diwali release film Thirumalai outside a
  theatre in Karaikudi.
  
  In Pondicherry, Ajit fans went on the rampage and destroyed
  200 seats, ceiling fans and screen of a theatre when the management
  refused to repeat an action scene from the film Anjaneya.
  
  These may seem isolated instances of hero worship getting
  out of hand. But in Tamilnadu, it is not. On the other hand, it is a
  typical manifestation of the hold that film stars have over the
  masses and their (fans) unbridled loyalty to their heroes. After
  all, this is the State that has had Chief Ministers from the
  filmworld for the last 30 odd years.
  
  In the recent past, fans have gone overboard and indulged in
  such acts which have prove to be a nuisance not only for themselves
  and also to others.
  
  The release of a leading actor's movie in Tamilnadu is
  inevitably marked by vociferous fans raising slogans carrying their
  favourite star's portrait, distributing sweets, performing pal
  abhishekam to cutouts. A festive atmosphere would be witnessed in
  theatres where the movies are screened.
  
  However, today, violence seems to have taken over these
  celebrations and a sense of hatred tends to prevail among fans.
  
  Speaking on this, a regular moviegoer says, this is not a
  new trend witnessed among fans. It has been there ever since the
  days of M G Ramachandran and Sivaji Ganesan. In between, this sort
  of crazy behaviour took a backseat thanks to the advent of satellite
  channels and pirated VCDs. However, the current year has seen the
  Tamil film industry enjoy a few hits and has succeeded in bringing
  back audience to the theatres.
  
  This is where the problem started again.
  
  At a theatre in Dharmapuri, actor Surya's fans objected to a
  larger cutout of Vikram put up in front of a theatre screening
  Pithamagan. Police personnel were summoned and the morning show had
  to be cancelled on the opening day.
  
  Actor Dhanush, who returned after shooting abroad for his
  forthcoming movie Pudukottailirundhu Saravanan was rushed to a
  hospital in Chennai, Wednesday, after he slipped and fell when fans
  mobbed him at a park.
  
  'Going to theatres has become a costly affair. When we take
  the entire family unmindful of the expenses for the sake of an
  enjoyable evening, such crazy behaviour by fans upsets us. Theatres
  have become an unsafe place to be with the families these days',
  says another movie-goer.
  
  In a theatre where more than 500 people watch a film,
  troublemakers are just a handful. But they spoil the entertainment
  of the majority. The troublemakers, mostly youths, fail to
  understand that by indulging in such acts for the sake of their
  stars and end up spoiling their future.
  
  Certainly, fans have the desire to meet and greet their
  favourite stars, but they have understand that actors and actresses
  are human, he adds.
  
  Another film-buff recalls the hype surrounding Rajnikanth's
  Baba, released last year. The fans waited in long queues (all night
  to book tickets). They performed pal abhishekam and carried his
  portraits in palanquins. A few went even further, shaving their
  heads praying for the film to be a successful one.
  
  A crazy fan of actor Murali used to write on walls equating
  him to God, wherever he went. One cannot forget that fans built a
  temple for actress Kushboo, when she was in the limelight a few
  years ago.
  
  Rational thinking, common sense and understanding that
  cinema is a medium of entertainment alone would help the situation.
  
  But ironically, the so called rational movement in
  Tamilnadu, the Dravidian movement, had used the filmdom and its
  attendant baggage, to further its cause.

  Mr.LLDasu, What can u say about North Indian fools making Shatruhan Sinha, Hema Malini, Vijayashanthi, Rajesh Khanna etc as politicians. Even American fools have made Arnold as a governor. Mr.Karthik Raja, u are saying about Veerapan. North Indians have already implemented it by electing P.hoolan Devi. So both of u shut ur BUTT***. Tamilians are not fools.   Yes, 28 crores(280,562,489) fools of USA selected one Actor, Regan as President in their 271(from 1731 AD) years history of Democracy
  3 crores (34,501,130) of Califorina fools elecetd one Actor tilldate.
  98 crores(983734387) of Indian (other than Tamils) fools elected only one Actor CM(NTR) and MPs(Sinha, Sunil Datt, Amitabh, Vijayshanthi(RS), ..) ..
  
  We, 6 crores (62110839) Intelligent Tamils, have 5 CMs, many MPs(Supreme Star, Puracthci Thalavai, Sirippu Selvar, Kramatthu Rasa, and many more ) and many more MLAs. But we will be more pleased to give CM post to actors than giving small posts like MLAs/MPs and yet we aren't satisfied and we, 6 crores of Tamils want an actor from Marathi or Telugu actor to save us from Kanndiga actress CM .
  Very Very Intelligent People.. Be proud for that. Never be ashamed to fall on Actors.. We have to save our image and culture of Falling on the Clowns..

  according to the nopnsense i hav read in tis page, i tink both parties r uttering sheer rubbish.whether tamilans r crazy abt tamil film stars is not my question.is ur page going to change the world.Not only india have tis prob but also many other countries which have a moderate number of indians like malaysia or singapore.But the do not fight in theaters like ppl in india do.well it is not ot my knowledge.but recent pictures like kaaka kaaka have been quite obsene n it is absolutely no picture 4 young children.parents should choose the pictures the want their children to see instead of blaming the authorities.well lastly i think the person who even set up this damn page has no other better things to do!!!go n do sth proper instead of gossiping of ppl.this is their profession n ppl r stupid to worship them.they have no part in it.u cannot stop tis even if u want!!!byez

  Karthik Raja, that is a really unjust statement to make. How do u know if ALL Tamilans are crazy abt film stars? Hav u done some extensive research to find that out? Don't make smart-alec comments without findin out the facts first. By the way, so wat if Tamilans are crazy abt film stars?Aren't American ppl crazy abt Hollywood stars n Chinese ppl crazy abt Chinese film stars? It's the same around the world-there's no difference. Wat abt Arnold Schwarzeneggar? Wasn't he voted as Californian president or osmething? Face facts first-don't condemn ur own race.

  If u take the Tamil star Vijay, he's the famous star in tamil film, and all the states, but, he's so decent, the people r like him, his film r so nice, very decent, that's only y the reason people r like him ok
