Kaakha Kaakha fame Gowtham after completing his current film Chennayil Oru Mazhai Kaalam (starring Surya) is to direct Kamalhassan. He was surprised when Kamal spoke to him and complimented him for his directorial work in KK. Kamal told him that after Vasool Raja MBBS he was going to act in his own production. Once that gets over the dates are given to Gowtham. Gowtham also narrated a story to Rajnikanth but he was not able to follow it up. “Rajni always keeps thinking of cinema I don’t think he will quit films" said Gowtham.

  Never count your chickens before they are hatched.
  Sibi malayil was supposed to direct guna, priyadarshan was to do anbe sivam. But it did not click. Bharathan opted out of devar magan at the 1/2 way stage itself (though his name figured in the titles). So, if gautham decides to be a dummy director, then he can direct kamal.
  
  The unfortunate point is because of hie ego, top directors are wary of working with him. Kamal is only comfortable with singeetham & santhana bharathi (both "yes" men).
